“Beautiful & quiet hotel in a busy city”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

We stayed at the Tea House for 3 nights in a standard double room. The rooms and hotel were modern (the shower was amazing), stylishly decorated and very clean, although ours was a little small and the window looked out onto people's houses. The swimming pool is small but perfect for a quick dip after a busy day in the city. Also there was a good range at breakfast, especially for Cambodian hotel standards. My boyfriend had a 60 min deep tissue massage in the spa ($13) and said it was a million times better than the massages he gets in London for £60 - so worth a visit.

The location was really good, it's near a busy road but you would have no idea when you step into the hotel as the foyer is set back and the foyer is full of plants so you feel like you've entered a little secret world. We were easily able to walk most places (20 mins to the Royal Palace). There is also lots of great restaurants near by full of Cambodians, not us tourists!

The staff were friendly and really helpful - especially when Giant Ibis messed up our bus booking and didn't collect us, so we missed the bus to Siem Reap. The hotel staff called Giant Ibis tried to get us sorted and then got us sorted for the next bus to SR with Mekong Express.

I would definitely recommend this place!

Got a room for a very good deal, since the hotel just opened up! Everything was clean and new. Service was good - the front desk, restaurant, and cleaning staff always has a smile for you when you pass by. The lobby is a great place to relax. Breakfast was good, with adequate choices.

The triple room on the top floor was spacious, with very basic amenities. No closet, with there is a space to hang your clothes. The bed and pillows are not as soft as I would want it to be, but just okay; some may find the cushion hard.

The one thing that bothered me was the noisy construction - which would constantly distract you, if you plan to take a quick rest during the day. Hopefully all these would be finished in the next few months.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room...

We stayed at the TeaHouse upon our arrival in Cambodia and liked it so much we stayed again before flying out again. The hotel is quite new, very clean, and everything works. Breakfast is good; fruit, bread, toast, some warm stuff; they even make an omelett of your choice. The staff are very friendly and helpful; will send postcards for you, clean clothes for a reasonable price etc. Location is very good also; all major sightseeing (except Tuol Sleng) in walking distance. In short, a place to feel very much at home.

We have just stayed here for one night, and loved the great value for the price. Excellent service, good food and nice pool. The rooms are clean and nice, nothing extravagant, but well maintained. I'll stay here again next time I'm in town.

after a bad experience to a other hotel in phnom penh, we was looking for a other hotel, and after contacting the pavillon, witch one was full they recommend us the sister hotel Tea House!
This is not really a hotel, more a back backer guest house, the lobby is really inpressive but in the room you saw that the owner as build this one just to make money and don't think a second to the customer! Really cheap decoration, bad matress, cheap shower gel in the bathroom...
The staff was reall not helpfull and recommand you jsut one restaurant the sister restaurant from "la plantation" really expensive, and not tasty at all! Prefer go to the street 278, and enjoy different king of food, Italian (bar Italia), India (saffron), Khmer (la table khmere), international (herb café) or the nice sport bar (score) a street after the street 278.
The pool at the hotel was ridiculous small, impossible to swim, the staff recommand us again to go to the plantation for have a swim, we go there and they refuse us the entry of the big pool and let us in red strange pool! At the end we go to the Hymawari and enjoy there a nice afternoom (8$ per people)
I don't recommand this place, or just if you you are a back packer! Prefer to spend more money and to go to the Hymawari for example or the raffles.

Dear Guest, I am very sorry you did not like our place. Indeed Imawari and Raffles are better, but they charge three times our price. I am not sure how you could expect getting the same facilities and services at 40 USD a night. I guess that if one's budget is over 150 USD per night and has related expectations, the TeaHouse is probably not the place... One day I'll do a Raffles too! Cheers, Alexis

This was a lovely affordable hotel. The lobby was gorgeous and there were plenty of nice places to sit for a cocktail. Cute rooms and good breakfasts. I liked the location Once I got myself oriented. The staff were very helpful.

We would not consider staying anywhere else in Phnom Penh. What you get for the price is not equal to what you would pay elsewhere. The main attractions are the friendly staff, the great restaurant (food and setting) and the comfortable rooms. Having a massage spa on site is also a positive. The delicious breakfast, included in the price, is an added bonus - especially the bacon.

Do yourself a favour when in Phnom Penh and stay at The Teahouse.
