“Clean, central, rooftop bar”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 5, 2014

We really enjoyed our 5 days at green palace. Impeccably clean, excellent value, and.good service in spite of the lack of English. Would have loved it more I there was a balcony and pool, but the lovely rooftop bar easily made up for that. The hotel has an excellent spa, very nice breakfast layout and is centrally located.

Dear Whitepatricia,

Thank you for rating us on TripAdvisor.

We are very glad you enjoyed your stay with us. English is key for us to develop for all of our staffs within the hotel to ensure the efficiency of communication with our guests. For your information, the hotel offers a balcony room, but the number is minimal and we plan to convert some more rooms to fulfill the need and requirement in the near future.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us and we are looking forward to welcoming you back again soon.

Best regards,

I was recommended this hotel by an american and I was very happy to stay there. The location is okay. Hotel seems to be a new one and has multi storeys.

PRO:
The bed rooms are spacious and restrooms have bath tub. Besides the usual amenties they provide sleepers and bath robes!

They have steam and sauna with a massage section. I took an oil massage which was a great and relaxing experience. Steam and sauna are clean and good. They do have a big gym with all the gadgets but I did not make use of it.

There is a bar on top floor and then a roof top section from where one can have a nice view of Phnom Penh. Though they had two for one cocktails I did not see many people... the cocktails and service both were OK.

Breakfast is served as buffet and has variety of fruits, eggs, soups. It was not "boring" as in many other hotels!

Hotel staff is very helpful and smiling.

CONTRA:
Hotel does not have a swimming pool but it did not matter to me as I went for sauna and steam bath.
I had once lunch in their restaurant and it was not yummy. No wonder the restaurant was almost empty! May be they need some improvement here.

All in all I would definately choose this hotel to stay again!

Clean and newish hotel, but sited in a rather isolated location.

However, be warned about a few design defects. The bath top head is sharp, juts out, and the shower head above is recessed, causing you to stand very close to the tap. It cuts both my wife and I at the shin during shower the first night drawing blood.

The second quirk is that the hot water supply appears localised in the room, rather than central. There is a panel displaying the temperature of the water. It must be a rather small tank, as hot water depletes rapidly, and it is never possible to fill the bath with hot water, as there isn't enough. The water pressure is also low.

Finally, both the sink and bath stopper are not water tight, and water gradually leaks out. With the low water pressure, it effectively means the bath is never usable!

Room Tip: Be careful about the bath tap head, which is sharp, juts out, and will cut you. Be warned.

While staying in Phnom Penh at another hotel - we were taken to the Green palace for dinner. The phrases 'style over substance' and 'all fur coat and no knickers' come to mind - the restaurant has stylish decor but the service was non existent, An hour and a half after we arrived, we had managed to receive bread and water! The food was probably the worse we had while in Cambodia.
However, a cocktail on the roof top bar is highly recommended, and you can get coffee, hot chocolate and pastries to take away in the lobby, that are delicious.

This was most enjoyable and fun stay in Phnom Penh I have had. Hotel is well designed with spacious, bright and clean rooms. Good restaurant tasty food with very reasonable prices. Excellent Spa, well-equipped gym. I would easy give this hotel 5 stars if it had a swimming pool. Very impressed, highly recommended ,definitely will be staying again....
