“Volunteering?? - the best spot”
Reviewed June 11, 2013

The rooms are not that nice, or clean, but the "mood" of the place is the best if you are in Phnom Penh to volunteer.

I don't believe the people staying at the gust house, who are not volunteering are enjoying their stay as much. We take up a lot of space sitting at in the "dining area" using the free WIFI and having conversations left and right.

It's close to the Olympic Stadium - a 10 min walk maybe.

Room Tip: If you get a room up the right side stair-case that is facing the streets you will have WIFI in your...

I was placed in a lovely room. There was some good art on the wall and a great connection to the internet. I was impressed with the transport to all the local 'hot spots' because there are motars just outside. The Khmer cuisine is not really to my taste but I thought the people were relatively friendly. There was a funny kid outside my room yelling beeeeeeeebeeeeeeeeebeeeeeeeeeeeee which was annoying but also funny. If you were going to stay in PP for a while it is great to access the local supermarket, the local strip of tourist places which is close to the palace and all that. You can access some orphanages from there also. I was most impressed with the kids hospital across the road and some kid who gave me a length of cotton to fix my trousers. In all a warm place and better than most places in Cambodia although I was there for less than a month. It is accesible to the local bus station. I would not reccomend going to the south Shanoukville unless you just want to booze and dance. It is not what I would wish in terms of the development of Cambodia but people gotta make dosh.

Room Tip: I got the room on the same level as the cafe as there was a better connection to the internet

I traveled here with a service trip over the summer of 2012. The rooms are spacious for a Phnom Penh guesthouse and come with good services such as an open shower, working plumbing and queen-size beds. The customer service is outstanding. If you do not make an effort to be purposefully rude then they accept you into one of their own little family. They prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner for you from a decent menu if you order ahead of time. Definitely recommended.

Room Tip: Higher floors have less noise from streets
