The training programme the Frangipani group use for their staff must be fantastic, this was the 2nd one in Cambodia we stayed at and the staff continued to be completely faultless - they really can't do enough for you and always with a smile on their face.
The hotel itself isn't ideally situated for the main tourist area but is close (5 min walking distance) to the Russian market and the Vietnamese Embassy which was handy for sorting our visas. It's only a few dollars tuktuk ride from the main areas so we weren't too concerned about being a bit remote.
The rooms were adequate with great views, quite arty as is the rest of the hotel, we surprised that there were no wardrobes or cupboards to store stuff in but there are hanging 'racks' on the walls. It was nice to have a small balcony but it would have been also nice to have a seat or two out there as well.
Breakfast was buffet style with a pretty good range of eastern and western choices - even the fussiest eater should be able to find something they like.
On the rooftop there's a small pool and a bar that has a happy hour every night, it's an excellent place to relax for a while after the days activities and before going out and has brilliant views.
On leaving PP we had a bit of an issue of how we could store our luggage before getting the overnight bus to Ho Chi Minh from another part of the city - no problem for the Frangipani staff tho! They arranged for us to store our bags in the lobby of a sister hotel closer to where we needed to be and they did it free of charge, when we arrived at the other hotel they also couldn't have been more helpful.
All in all it was excellent value for money and we had no complaints.

Room Tip: If the water in the shower is cold check the switch just outside the bathroom is on - this heats the...

The receptionist friendly. Lovely room with balcony. (we stay 802 with swimming pool view).
Thanks to the lady with black jacket at reception counter, she walk together with us from hotel to Russian Market (sorry can’t remember the name on 29 June afternoon) walking distance 7mins. The hawker stall start from 5pm until midnight at Russian Market. Great view from Sky Bar overseeing the city view.
If you looking stay near to Russian Market better to stay this hotel. Hotel to Night market cost USD4 by Tuk Tuk (10mins). Free one way transport to airport by car.
To improve : Request extra bed. My request was additional bath towel, glass and coffee cup but didn't send to room. (stay 3 person). The air conditioner is not cooling.
Looking forward to stay here again in future.

Room Tip: Better to get high floor near to lift. Nice view.

We stayed here in a 'Family' suite which turned out to be two rooms off a common alcove. The alcove had sliding doors to the passage way but these door locks did not work. This summed up the hotel.

The place has just undergone a complete renovation. We had multiple minor maintenance issues with both rooms: blocked toilets, shower head fell off the wall, difficult to use door locks on the room doors, leaking windows. Despite this the rooms were clean and comfortable. There was no cupboarde, shelves etc., no towel racks and a few coat hangers.

The pool area was lovely and the pool refreshing, cooler than the tepid pools we have experienced at other places.

The included breakfast was hit and miss. The soup and omelette bar were good but the fresh fruits and breads disappointing.

The staff were friendly and responded promptly to all issues we raised. The location was good, being a very short walk to the Russian Market. In short I suspect they opened the place too soon and are now playing catch up. I would stay here again.

My wife and I stayed here May 2013 and I have to say the staff here are above and beyond nice, we had just walked in the front door and we were greeted by name ( I still don't know how they knew who we were ) The room they had us in was at the front over the street and when we said we would prefer a room a little quieter it was not a problem. The rooms had everything you could need and the pool was awesome. The roof top bar with the spa is just icing on the cake. It is a must stay at hotel.

11 of us stayed here for a day and night in end-May 2013. Prior to the stay, I have read reviews here about ongoing works in the hotel. By the time of our stay, the renovations to the roof top had been completed. There was now a jacuzzi pool and a drinks bar. The view from there was splendid. You could catch both sunrise (see my photos below) and sunset.

This was an obviously new hotel. The common areas of the hotel e.g. lobby, were not air-conditioned and relied solely on natural breeze and ceiling fans for ventilation. This was probably in line with the theme of the hotel. The deco was simple and free of frills.

The deco and theme extended to the rooms. I had a single room with a king size bed. Spacious. No wardrobe but there were plenty of space with hangers for you to air your clothes. No carpet on the floor but just concrete cement. This would be good in the long run as you would not have musty smell or other maintenance issues with the carpet. My room had a shower area but no bath tub. I understand that some other rooms had bath tubs. There was also a little balcony where I could dry my swimming trunks. No much of a view though from my room as the balcony faced the next block. Again, I understand that some other rooms had large windows with views.

Service from the staff was good. A smile and some gentleness in speech always worked wonders with them. I accidentally locked my room safe without knowing how to re-open it. A staff member promptly attended to the problem.

The only attraction within walking distance was the Russian market. There was really nothing Russian about the market, at least not anymore. An early morning visit is recommended as it gets hot later in the day.

The breakfast buffet was sufficient. I also had dinner at the same place where they offered a nice 25% discount for hotel guests.

Overall I had a good stay here and would recommend this hotel to visitors.

Room Tip: As for a room with windows if you want windows. Ask for a room with a bath tub if you are hung up o...
