The National museum is telling us a lot about the history of Cambodia in a very beautiful way.
The museum by itself is looking amazing and my 4 kids that usually are not big fan of this kind of activity loved it. It is a sign !! The museum also organize traditional dance show, we went to see one and LOVED it !!!

A beautiful traditional building in a lovingly maintained lush garden.
The museum maintains a collection of artifacts dating back to the start of the Khmer Empire. The knowledge is exhaustively thorough and is supported with audio visual aids as well.

Being in Phnom Penh for 4 days I was slowly running out of things to see - so from lack of places I went to the National Museum even though the Tripadvisor ratings were not very good.

I must agree with much of what I had read on Tripadvisor. The museum is not bad, it's just that a lot of the artifacts are religious of nature and not very well described in english.

I found the garden in the middle more interesting than the artifacts on display.

Set up pretty well and pretty informative. Worth a visit. Can see it in an hour tobhour and a half. Good location by the royal palace so combine the two of them in one day.

Uncomplicated, well set out, beautiful artifacts, great displays and audios in preparation for a visit to Angkor Wat. Courtyard very pretty and whole place had a serene air about it. Giving offerings to Bhuddhist statues throughout means you need to have some small change handy - it also helps with museum costs and the gift shop was very cheap for some good quality souvenirs.
