We had free airport pick up arranged by hotel - great as arrived 10.30pm at night so no hassle trying to find taxis and address for hotel.
Rooms-clean,window not much of view, beds firm mattress some might find it too hard, and fairly comfortable, clean bathroom with shower in bath, water not so hot but ok as very hot outdoors!
Quiet on top floors( we were on 5th floor) and hotel had lifts!
Free wifi connection in room as well and was fairly quick!
Free laundry was great and clothes delivered and hung in closet.
Breakfast- basic self service for tea/coffee,cereal-only cornflakes and fruit and can order 1 hot dish from menu-choice of eggs, porridge, noodles or rice!
Location- great as lots of restaurants, bars within walking distance and supermarket 1 min away for water and snacks.
Tuk tuks outside always waiting anytime.
Fast Internet and wifi during daytime and 3 computers could use in dining room.
Wanted late checkout but hotel busy and so had to leave bags in reception which was ok.
Staff friendly and polite.
Good value hotel with clean rooms and safe area and can't ask for a better location!

Room Tip: Non smoking rooms and on higher floors as quiter!

Stay here two nights whilst sight seeing with friends, the hotel was nice and the room was clean and tv had lots of chanels and the bathroom had hot water all the time. Breakfast was nice but not a huge choice and also the staff did not know a lot of directions but it didnt matter as tuktuk drivers did.

Was pleasantly surprised with Golden Gate. Rooms were clean and spacious. Included a kitchenette with a refrigerator. The free laundry service was a real plus. The complimentary breakfast was better than any I have had I'm the states. Pancakes, French toast, fried eggs, three times of rice, seafoo porridge, leek bread, and plenty more.

Had a mattress with springs poling me the first night. I requested they replace it and that night I had a top quality mattress.

Saw no mosquitos and in Cambodia that is a real comfort.

Highly recommend.

This is a family owned and run small hotel in Central Phnom Penh. Good value with laundry and breakfast included in the tarrif. We would not stay anywhere else in the city. We always feel safe and cared for and are picked up at the airport.
It faces a busy street but there is always a Tuk Tuk handy to take guests where every they want to go.

Before we arrived to Phnom Penh, we reserved a room at the Top Banana. We arrived a day early and they were full for that night. Instead of moving around hotels, we decided to look elsewhere for our 4 day stay. They suggested the Blue Dog Guesthouse, which had a disgustingly dirty tiny room with dirty linens and mosquitos everywhere. We were only there for ten minutes before we decided the mosquito bites weren't worth paying a cheap $8/night.

We decided to give the "golden mile" a try and the first place we walked into was the Golden Gate Hotel (the larger, and I think older, wing). The friendly staff took us to see two equally priced ($20/night) rooms and let us choose which we wanted. We opted for one that was closer to the common space outdoor balcony on the second floor. The room was simple but very clean and spacious-one of the biggest rooms we had for our entire trip. The bathroom was a typical se asia wetroom, and the hot water worked well. The aircon here works VERY well, as does the free wifi. Best of all: FREE SAME DAY LAUNDRY! They even return the clean clothes to you on hangers, should you want to hang them up in the room's built-in closet.

This hotel is a great value for the price ($20/night for a large room with double bed and aircon). I highly recommend it and if I'm ever in Phnom Penh, I'd definitely come back here.
