Was expecting a lot more from the Palace based on other palaces in SE Asia - was disappointed!
Though the gardens and grounds were very nice - not really worth the admission fee!

“Nice, but not worth the admission fee”
Reviewed June 6, 2014 via mobile

Came here around 4ish and were about to finish in less than hour. Many places were closed and unable to go in or even look around.
Maybe I'm comparing the ones in Thailand, so this one is not as impressive. If you come here with a family, the $6USD adds up and it's not cheap.

“worth a one time visit”
Reviewed June 6, 2014

As many other reviewers stated, getting a tour guide is a must. If you are trying to budget really hard, it's 10 dollars for any size group. The palace is nice but there really isn't too much to see as many areas are closed off. The tour guide was fantastic though and really knowledgeable, not just reading from a script but could actually answer questions which seems to be rare in guided tours in Southeast Asia. Try to go on a cloudy day or when it's just not soo hot.

“Not a must see at all”
Reviewed June 5, 2014

If you've been to other palaces in Asia, you come here with high expectations. Once you're on grounds, they're immediately dashed. There are absolutely NO explanations of anything other than a few items in the exhibit halls outside of the palace grounds. Many of the buildings are closed or roped off. If you don't hire a guide, there's not much to get out of the visit. And when it's hot outside, there's not much shelter from the sun if you decide to visit during the afternoon hours. For $6.50, we felt a bit jaded for what we got.
