“Kings death has closed parts of this until mid Feb 2013”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2013

Beautiful stupas and lots of beautiful colors. The country is in mourning for their much loved King who will be cremated February 4 2013. Don't be here then--even Obama's visit caused 4 hr traffic jams and they expect 2 million people to come for his cremation

“Calm place for wandering”

Most of the Royal Palace is closed for the public but you can experience a really pleasant strolling among palaces, pagodas and gardens around Silver Pagoda. A lovely place close to confluence of Mekong and Tonle Sap rivers.

“beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

this place is worth more then just a walk by, it is lovely and has great photo opportunities. You must have long sleeve pants/shirt to cover up with. When i first went there were some local monks playing music in the temple, i was able to go inside and they asked me to join in and play music with them on the wooden drum it was a great experience i have never forgot.

“Worth a visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 21, 2013

The gardens and grounds to walk around were very pleasant and peaceful, as long as you keep away from the asian bus groups!
The main palace was closed for renovations so no choice but to visit the silver pagoda.
beautifiul architectures, plenty of history to absorb and better in the afternoon then the morning
