I thought 20 dollars was ok,but maybe a bit to much when you consider the area.
Still dark at night and not safe to walk.building work still going on but did see quite a few rats were the locals throw the rubbish on the street.there is a lot of tuks daytime but got caught out twice at night and had to walk to the Main Street, not pleasant in no lighting.the cleaners do a good job apart from putting the 2 free water bottles in the fridge daily they didn't,always go and get them yourself, still no safe deposit boxes.
Overall you may not be disappointed but 17 dollars seems a fairer rate I would say.

Room Tip: Get a room on 6th or 7th floor, not many mosquitoes .. Get a tuk drivers number and always agree a p...

Stayed here again,,this time 20 dollars but was ok ,,couple of things different from last time..there seems to be plenty of building work in the street so it will look a lot better soon,,I still would not walk at night here but then most people don't anyway,,the tuks are available 24/7 they charge 3 dollars riverfront,,the big tuk guy during the day speaks very good English and the staff can tell the others were you want to go,,staff are helpful ,,English is very well spoken,,always ready to help..it's clean ,beds are soft, plasma tv ,,big bathroom,,loads of hot water...they sometimes forget to put bottled water in the room but just ask as it is not a problem....
Come out of the hotel and turn right, right again your on to street 310. ,, turn right and you will see a club across the road or same side there is a Khmer gym,1/2 dollar but no aircon ,,rustic.... If you were to turn left you will find massages and eateries,,keep going and there are coffee shops and kiwi bakery also a sign for an Indian restaurant ,,if you don't go too far there is a street on the right 95 ,,here is we're you will find THE FLICKS movie house,,try it it's good experience ,, also keep going and you'll see a gym on the right which does have aircon but is 3 1/2 dollars a session .. But you've showers and more equipment
When you get to know the area you will find this hotel is not that far out of the way..the Khmer Rouge prison is a stones throw away and the market is the same..
Trust me,,try this hotel once and tell me I'm right..

My room was on 7th floor and it was very specious and clean with beautiful view over the city. The hotel is very new and so the furnishing round the hotel and in the room is very minimal, but room has got everything you ned for few days stay. The staff and very nice and friendly, but not very knowledgable about the city. They did not know what time the palace is closing so I missed out on visiting the palace. Do not relay on the information given to you in the hotel. They do not organise any tours so go to the travel agents for that.
Hotel is located in the quiet street but it will take you about 15 min in the tuk-tuk to get there from the main riverside and will cost you about 6 dollars.

Had to leave my normal hotel and went to ggp hotel but moved after a night and came here..well,it's a new hotel down a side street ok daytime but bit scary at night.its well away from the riverfront and any entertainment venues..very quiet..now the hotel is nice, big enough rooms, big bathroom, hot water, flat screen tv on wall and loads of plug sockets everywhere.some rooms have balconys looking over the city.rooms are clean, beds are soft..17 dollars a night..only thing is there is no safety boxes but informed the staff so maybe ths will change..overall it's nice and staff are ok ,owner is a nice guy who stays in the lobby a lot, tuks are not bad but not always there at night, and don't recommend walking to the corner at night,it's a good clean place and new so if the area gets better it will be a gem...

Room Tip: Ask for a room with balcony.
