“Beautiful hotel”
Reviewed October 5, 2013

Right in the centre of Phnom Penh. Looked very like the original one in Singapore. Pool and poolside service very good. Rooms good. Menu lovely and delicious breakfast buffet. Visited the cafe where all the correspondents wrote and filmed their articles for the news during the war. Very interesting.

Room Tip: Overlook the pool. The front would be quite noisy.

Dear valued Guest,

Many thanks for your visit earlier this year, and for sharing your experience on TripAdvisor. It was a pleasure welcoming you to our hotel, and we have since your visit displayed a few pictures of the Hotel Le Royal in the 60th and before, which give a brief impression of Phnom Penh in a past era.

We hope we will have the pleasure of welcoming yon again to our hotel, and share some of the history of our hotel.

With best regards,

Gerrit H Thesing

Just spent 2 nights at Raffles Phnomh Penh.
Having travelled on a regular basis over many years, I have stayed mainly in major hotel chain properties.
Decided to treat my adult son and myself to the Raffles.
Found it to be excellent in every respect and well worth the extra cost to enjoy the Raffles experience.
Congratulations to staff and management.
Thoroughly recommend.

Our return trip to Phnom Penh had no competitors as far as the hotel choice was concerned. We were going to celebrate an event. Raffles Le Royal was our only selection. Our previous stay was fantastic and this was no different. A beautiful hotel in all aspects. The service and staff were fantastic. Believe me, everyone KNOWS your name. Food was wonderful. Room was clean and comfortable. Alert security presence. What more can we say. This is a must stay hotel for those wishing to see and experience what constitutes impeccable service standards. They are way ahead of other first class hotels we have stayed in Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Malaysia. A very big thank you to Pieter, Gerrit, Hakly, Piseth and the numerous staff at Cafe Moniwong, lobby/reception/house keeping, etc. We already miss the wonderful and generous hospitality.

Very nice hotel, ideally located. Staff very good and refer to you by your name which is a nice touch considering the volume of guests. Perhaps sometimes re-naming you but can not fault there eagerness to please. Appreciated coming back to the hotel after a long day visiting some of the more somber sights in phnom pehn

If old world atmosphere and grandeur is what you are after, then Raffles is the place to go. Sure, its expensive, but hey you get what you pay for. Rooms are well appointed, service is excellent. A stroll along the hotel hallways introduces you to a various number of high end establishments with some excellent shopping opportunities. Highly recommended.

This hotel, ideally located, is up to its reputation and provides excellent rooms. For those travelling, the pool is really enjoyable as well and the location is great! Bedding is good, matresses are not too firm or too soft ...
Service and staff are impeccable. Nothing bad to say about the Hotel.

I was very excited to be staying at a Raffles hotel and it most certainly did live up to all of the hype I'd heard over many many years. We were met by a driver at the bus stop after travelling from Ho Chi Minh and from that moment to the moment we left the driver in Siem Reap we were treated like royalty. Every need is catered for in a serene environment.

The food is outstanding, from breakfast through to dinner. Probably the best breakfast we'd ever had really. All of it freshly made and delicious, from the muesli to the chocolate coated pancakes my daughter enjoyed.

The rooms are beautiful with a balcony looking out onto the manicured garden. The room service was efficient, serving delicious food. The laundry service was equally efficient. I only had to leave our bag of laundry on the door and had it returned the next morning.

Other aspects - the pool is luxurious, a walk in the gardens a highlight. There is even an ANZ ATM within the hotel. They will order a tuk tuk to take you around the fantastically vibrant city of Phnom Penn.

We organised for a driver to take us through to Siem Reap. He couldn't have been more helpful, even after a seven hour drive he was there to help sort out a hotel mix up with bookings, going above and beyond what anyone would expect.

As many reviews have suggested, if you can afford it, STAY. A stay at the Raffles is as much a part of your holiday experience as the location you are visiting. You will never regret it and will have many many memories and stories to tell.
