The rooms (suites really) are lovely. It is really unusual to see a hotel in this country designed and decorated with such style and thought. I stayed in "Manhattan" - all the rooms are named after films - and it had a purple colour scheme, pictures of the Manhattan skyline, but not overdone, very tasteful. And the suites are very generous in size - huge living area, lovely bathroom, all the amenities for a slightly longer stay. Would happily stay here again.

One proviso - I am not a fan of the restaurant. Service was so slow - I gave myself half an hour for breakfast before heading to the airport, and was still waiting at the end of that. I basically wrestled the lovely fruit arrangement off the kitchen staff so that I could eat it rather than admire it from afar once it had attained visual perfection.

We had the Indian room as well as the Modern, both were amazingly decorated and very big. The bathrooms were impeccably clean and modern, some including both a bath tub as well as a shower, the staff was also very friendly. I strongly recommend the hotel to families traveling to Phnom Penh.

A tastefully and stylishly furnished hotel that matches the owner pedigree (Ambre). The minute you step into the hotel, you would know that nothing can go wrong. Great Location as it is situated within walking distance to several locations such as the Royal Palace, Central Market and Wat Phnom.

Different styles apartments with different number rooms allows great flexibility for travellers that are visiting Phnom Penh alone or with a group of friends.

A must visit is the restaurant situated at the top of the hotel. Good food and great service. A must visit!!!

Room Tip: Monsoon Wedding is a 2 room apartment located at the top.

The decoration is nice, the location is good.
But no pool, no breakfast for this price in Phnom Penh is really too much. The pool that they purpose outside the city is too far.
The service was really bad, the guy at the reception not really understand when we talk with him.
If you are looking for a luxurious and expensive service apartment to stay in Phnom Penh believe the review, if you look for a great hotel to stay with a nice pool a good service for relaxing forget this place. You can find in the same price range the villa paradiso, or the plantation (with a huge pool) and a lot of other boutique hotel for the half price.

Good day sir,

You again !!! I thought your previous review of La Maison d Ambre (which has been deleted since then as judged not credible) would have been the last one...
Let me summarize again our principles : Our place is a luxury suite hotel. Each suite are the largest suite you can find in Phnom Penh, each different, decorated with antiques and original designer furnitures.
As you said you can have the same price range at many places in Phnom Penh, it is up to the client to decide the type of hotel, the level of service and comfort they are paying for.
Hegemony and copycat has never been and will never be our aim at La Maison d Ambre.

Good luck to you.

The owner.

We arrived at the hotel and were immediately attracted to the contemporary design at the lobby area. Almost everything was in pink, black and grey, even the uniform the staff were wearing. We chose to stay in Casablanca and I love how spacious the whole place is. There's a living area, a kitchen, a bedroom and a bathroom which I simply adore. It's a pity we only got to stay one night as we were going to Siem Reap the next morning.
Try the food at the restaurant located on the rooftop. We had both our supper and breakfast there, everything we ordered tasted good. I especially love the eggs benedict served!
Staff in the hotel were extremely friendly, they were always ready to answer our questions or simply greet us with a genuine smile. It was my birthday on the day I left the hotel and they gave me a basket of flowers-what a pleasant surprise!
The location of the hotel is good, we could do to anywhere within minutes with the help of a tuk tuk.
I would say that this hotel is definitely good value for money and this would be my first choice hotel in Phnom Penh!

Room Tip: Love the Casablanca room!

This was a fantastic place to be based during our four days in Phnom Penh. My husband and I were travelling with our infant son, and this hotel acted as an oasis at the end of hot days sight seeing. We particularly appreciated that the room was in fact a one bedroom apartment with kitchenette, very useful for sterilising bottles and creating light meals when the baby wouldn't agree to going out.

This is a newly opened hotel and the staff are friendly and very enthusiastic about creating a welcoming, comfortable stay. There are a few small kinks to iron out, but overall this was a great choice. The best elements:
* scrupulously clean
* lovely towels and bed linen
* king sized bed
* HOT and strong showers
* beautifully decorated rooms ("In the Mood For Love" was indeed very romantic).
* in house tuk tuk (pink and very glamorous!)
* great location - short (but hot) walk (or cheap tuk tuk) to Royal Palace, Museum, FCC, Wat Phnom and more
* roof top bar great for a pre dinner drink

There is no pool, and breakfast is not included in the room rate, but the hotel does not purport to offer these things. Instead, it is a great place for a city break, and a rejuvenating place to return to at the end of a dusty day in PP.

Room Tip: "In the Mood For Love" is indeed a romantic room!

We did stay 2 nights on our way back to Europe at La Maison d Ambre. I had to say the place looked quite different than the usual offer in Cambodia, a real designer hotel with full dedication to details and services.
We did stay in Monsoon Wedding room (Indian inspiration). The large white appartment with double bedroom is so pleasant that you could just stay in the appartment all day !!! The hotel is perfectly located, walking distance from all major spots in Phnom Penh.
At the end of the day, we did enjoy the sunset on the terrasse for a private khmer diner organised by the hotel. A great thing : everything you want can be order and staff will try to accomodate your request. Overall a very good experience and a nice way to finish our trip in Cambodia.
