My ground room had no view, but it felt like this is your home because of the kitchen and the living room area. After a long day that big fridge was useful for your ice-cream.
The street isn't exactly glamorous or silent because of the construction work, but you are next to the Monivong, and the independence monument and the park aren't that far. I studied the city map before coming to Phnom Penh, so I know which locations to pick, but I booked here because of the "against sex tourism" notice on their website. This and good reviews gave me enough confidence to come here, knowing that it's a good place.
All of the staff was friendly, the room was clean, nicely decorated, I really loved the tall lamp in the bedroom and the krama tied around the chair was just so cambodian. No other hotel so far had the krama in the room. Any downsides? Not really, the drain in the kitchen sink was clogged though and while the staff was friendly, that evening male receptionist was too friendly with his smile stretching to his ears. It's nothing wrong but just a humble smile is good enough. And the hotel information in the room contains english grammar mistakes and check-out is listed at midnight (12pm is noon), but it's okay, not everyone is fluent.
I really have to rate this place as excellent because of two things. The reception is there, a small open office, but you'll be seated at the table outside with a welcome drink. Very nice. And when I was leaving, the receptionist escorted me out and as I drove away, we waved to each other and that left such a beautiful impression.
