“Where Romance meets History”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

White Mansion is a great hotel to stay in when visiting Phnom Penh. It is extremely charming, and the rooms are very large and comfortable, as are the bathrooms. The hotel gives you a feeling of both romance and history. The GM and her staff are always willing to help with anything from a shaving kit to recommendations to where to eat, shop or have a drink late at night.

The breakfast they served was great, they gave you a choice of various types like American, Continental, healthy, etc. It was great and the coffee they served came from a proper coffee machine.

The location of the hotel is superb! It took us no more than 10-15 minutes to go to any of the sights such as the Royal Palace, The Genocide Museum, the river, etc.

I would recommend White Mansion to everyone, whether on a romantic trip or a business trip!

Mike K.

Room Tip: We had a room on the 3rd floor facing the pool, it was great!

We stayed here for just one night at the end of our week in Cambodia. Our first 2 nights in Cambodia (PP) we stayed in The Kabiki as the room time I wanted (Suite Twin) wasn't available. We traveled with a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 children. They placed an extra bed for one of the kids and two of them slept in one of the two queens. Check in was smooth. I booked directly with the hotel and communication was always smooth and they were very responsive. They also made a reservation for us at The Yumi restaurant as it was closed during our first two nights in PP. We arrived earlier than initially planned (noon) and our room wasn't ready. They told us it would be ready by 2 pm. We went out for lunch, got back at 2 pm and room was still not ready. Had ice cream in Le Cafe and then they came over to tell us it was ready, slightly after 2 pm. Room was super spacious with nice touches and high ceilings. Two queen beds (the most comfortable ones during our entire stay), a long desk, a little sitting area, sufficient space for clothes and a nice size bathroom with double sink, separate toilet and a large shower. Staff was super friendly, English was more than sufficient. Received welcome drink and cold towel on arrival. Pool area is nice, though very secluded (not much wind) so can be very hot in the sun especially during the hottest days in the middle of the day. Four small areas with some cover (and 2 loungers). Pool service was available as well. Pool water temperature was nice and fresh, definitely not "bath water". Breakfast was offered with 5 different menu options (continental, American, etc. including a kid's option) in Le Cafe. Service speed was good. My husband had a one hour back / shoulder massage for US$15, and said it was very good. Overall, a very pleasant stay with all things you need, great size rooms, excellent value for money. If there is one thing that could be improved, it would be the bath room towels (current ones are quite thin, dried out and ready for replacement by some newer, softer versions). Other than that, lovely and great experience.

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 214, a corner room (Suite Twin) which offers plenty of space for a family of 4 or...

I stayed at the White Masion in late March and again on 4th April on our way back from Siem Reap to Melbourne. I really can't express how amazing our stay was for our first 3days stay in late March. On checking in, I casually mentioned it was my birthday the following day and on the morning of my birthday they gave me a cake and beautiful bunch of flowers. We had a very minor issue with our air conditioning and so we were offered a free massage and discount on our rate which was not necessary. I have stayed at 5* hotels all over the world at this rates as one of the best I have stayed in. Whilst I have seen everything Phnom Penh has to offer we would we go back just to stay in this hotel again. We stayed at the Heritage Suites in Siem Reap which under normal circumstances we would have loved, however the comparison between both hotels left us a tad dissapointed in Seam Reap as we couldn't wait to get back to our home away from home in Phnom Penh. When we arrived back at the hotel we were upgraded to a massive suite and the same wonderful service. I has always stayed at the Raffels Hotel on prior trips however this hotel rates so much better in every way! If you are looking for the best hotel for your stay this is it!

Room Tip: We stayed in 316 and 214 (larger suite) both were beautiful.

Great stays simply need the shortest reviews. This was a fantastic hotel and I'd definitely recommend it. I came here because of the TripAdvisor reviews and I echo everything that has been said.

The staff are terrific and whilst very young, they make a great effort and take pride in their work. The GM is charming, makes an effort with each of her guests and runs a great hotel. The hotel is actually the ex US Ambassador's residence. It is quite grand and has been very nicely done up in its conversion to a hotel.

We had a junior suite which was very spacious and great ceiling fans and great variety of international programming on the tv's. Location seemed to be a bit of a walk to everywhere but best thing to do is just take a tuk tuk everywhere - spare yourself the game of chicken crossing the roads and the stress and dust. Breakfast was very nice with four themed options. Spa was very nice as well and cheap.

Definitely stay here, what a great place and great deal. A

We spent 3 nights at the white mansion with my extended family. We had the two rooms on the ground floor overlooking the pool. I did worry that it might be noisy but I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is grand from the outside with a wonderful pool that is open 24 hrs! We had a huge room that easily fit 3 adults with high ceilings. I was initially disappointed that the hotel didn't offer a buffet breakfast but as it turned out the breakfasts were very nice and it was nice being served instead of having to form a line for everything. I guess that is an advantage of a boutique hotel. We had amazing service. The staff were all so lovely and quickly made all the family feel very welcome.

The location was good. Just a short walk to the royal palace and silver pagoda. It was surrounded by many restaurants and stepping out of the hotel we had no trouble finding any number of means of transport including tuk tuks and cyclos all of which was a bit of fun.

We did leave one of our iPad chargers in the room which we knew was going to cause us grief if we couldnt retrieve it. We rang the hotel from Siem reap and they immediately indicated that they had it and we were able to arrange for it to be picked up by our travel guide (min max and all Cambodia services) who promptly had it delivered to us at our next location. You can't ask for better service than that.

We highly recommend this hotel and would stay again in a flash.

An amazing hotel in an incredible city, this was an unscheduled stop on our 3 week trip and our only regret is that we didn't stay longer. As everywhere in Cambodia and Vietnam the staff are brilliant, friendly, helpful and attentive to your needs. The rooms are spacious with high ceilings and equally large bathrooms, the decor is simple but very stylish.
During our stay it was my partner's 40th birthday and he was greeted with a birthday card in the room, followed by a delicious birthday cake, complete with candle!
This hotel was so nice, the hardest part was leaving and seeing what this equally beautiful city had to offer.

Absolutely wonderful. Unfortunately we only had two nights here would have liked to have stayed forever! Rooms were beautiful, pool was sensational and the menu breakfast was unbelievable. Service was exceptional only too eager to please. Cant recommend this hotel more highly.
