“Good place to stay at this price”
Reviewed November 9, 2012

For the $25 B&B fee I thought this was very good value. Good location, within walking distance of Royal Palace & river front bars/restaurants. The small pool on the roof was also a nice touch, good place to cool down after touring the city. The first floor has a pool table and the main bar on the ground floor is good, happy hour has 75c beer. We ate in the hotel for one of three nights and the food was reasonable too. The only downside was the room, no natural sunlight and with a massive double bed, very little room. However not one for spending a lot of time in the room this never really mattered

Room Tip: The room we had no natural sunlight, it was on the left hand side, not sure if this is the same for...

i stayed here with a friend for a night in Oct 2012. here is my take on this property.

what i liked about this place:
- free wifi, with strong signal on all floors
- nice lobby area where guests can chill out, grab a snack, watch a large tv, read provided papers/magazines
- decent breakfast included (though this probably explains why the per night rate is higher than our hotel in Siem Reap)
- more than 60 TV channels, most of which are foreign pay channels like CNN, History, ESPN, etc

what i dont like about this place:
- no slippers provided in the room
- the business is run with a very strong "territorial" air -- when we told the hotel owner (he looks like the boss) that we have our own tuk-tuk to bring us to places, he bluntly told us that we should patronise the tuk-tuks that were waiting outside the hotel; whenever we stepped out of the hotel, we got approached by stern-looking tuk-tuk drivers who looked as if they were ready to yank us onto one of their tuk-tuks
- no fridge in the room
- room feels a bit cramped, with 2 super-single beds and very little space to move about
- some parts of stair well are under construction/renovation, so it felt a bit awkward

given the rate of USD 25 per nite per room, i guess we cant ask for too much, so this is a fairly average place to put up at for a short stay.

This was the best place my daughter and I stayed on our trip to South East Asia for the price. Very modern, trendy, clean and really well appointed in good taste.
The breakfast was excellent, the entrance has a great ambience of a cool city cocktail bar. Rooms were lovely, and another great place to have a cocktail upstairs by the jacuzzi or just chill on a sunbed after a busy day sightseeing. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Quite difficult to find but once there you can relax and have a beer on the open rooftop bar/pool. The staff are very friendly and will call you by your name. They are always interested in what you are doing and will give you advice even if you don't need it! The pool table is decent, but be careful not to hit it over the wall!! We didn't realise that we had a free breakfast on the first day as they didn't inform us, so always ask them if not sure. Room was decent and the shower was good. It is located very close to the Royal Palace and Museum and the river. Overall a very nice couple of nights stay.

Room Tip: Try and get one away from the bar area as did get noisy in the evening.

Walking distance or a short tuk tuk to the riverfront. Rooms average. Front desk staff could use some improvement in terms of customer service. We had numerous issues with getting a proper key so we could lock our room when we checked in. Also no elevator, so carrying your things up several flights of stairs was frustrating. Food was ok, but on the pricier side. I think you could do better for the price.

Room Tip: On the lower floors unless you want a bot of exercise!!

We stayed because our tuk tuk driver recommened it (never happened again) nice on the outside, great evening barman. But a get together place for old men and young girls,( very noticable). Small rooms. No would not recomend this hotel.

Room Tip: Small rooms, hookers do come here.

Checked into this hotel upon arrival, please be careful when booking Hotels in Cambodia as there are usually similar names. I had intended to book at Hotel 9 but ended up here. First room I got was small and beside the lounge so requested a new room. Got a better/bigger room. Staff was inconsistent with information but very helpful. Meal was okay, a little far from Waterfront area. Checked out after 1 night for Siem Riep and when I came back to Phnom Penh again, I stayed at Billabong Hotel; which was a significant upgrade for less than $20 more.
