“Good value small hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 16, 2012

Hotel was clean, comfortable, well maintained with good food, for the price a great place to stay however, be aware of the over friendly and very helpful owner "Jimmy" He is expert at arranging Tuk, Tuks at the front door for a "cheap price" then the drivers are compelled to pay him about 40% of the fee. Also will organise long distance bus transport and charge you several dollars each to be picked up at the hotel, only to find that the fare included pickup anyway. Apart from this a good place to stay, but don't let Jimmy help, its too expensive..

Although the hotel has three beautiful restaurant lounges for you to relax in, the hotel offers little else. My biggest problem above all was the crusty bathroom. It was clear to me that they quickly wipe down the bathroom sink and quickly sweep the showers in between customers and that is about it.  Clearly no scrubbing or disinfecting is involved. There was crust and grime on all four corners of the bathroom floor. I could also see dried toothpaste drops on the sink that had been dry wiped. The bathroom mat had specks of dirt on it and it was never changed during my 4 day stay despite me putting used towels on it to hint that I needed a new one. The staff is sweet and charming however they don't know are uninformed and unhelpful!!!! They had little to no knowledge of local resources and basic locations. I asked that they make a booking at a specific bus company for me and they deliberately made a reservation at a completely different bus company without any explanation.  Luckily I caught the error a few hours before departure time and stood with them at the front desk while they first denied being able to reserve at my desired bus company and then suddenly they were able to. They asked me to pay for the bus ticket at the reception desk which I gladly did--- I asked for a receipt which thu couldn't come up with and they did not give me a bus voucher. When the driver from the bus company came to pick me up I had to go back inside the hotel and request my voucher which they scrambled to find. The staff is very well groomed but not helpful beyond anything but a smile. This is not a place to stay when you want to feel taken care of as if you were on vacation.

Stayed in this small boutique hotel for one night. Nice modern bar area, serving Western food amoung other cuisine. Nice small 'pool' area, unusual facilities for room rates. Yet, while travelling around the area had far superior service for much less money.

We stayed here for three nights and overall, thought it was a great choice.

Our original room only had an internal window (like the majority of rooms) but then we were able to move to an end room which had an external window so it made the room much brighter.

The room was a great size, with a large double and single bed. It had lots of hanging space, a flat screen TV on the wall and a small fridge. The aircon worked well and the wifi was excellent.

The bathroom was large with a bath. However the shower head wasn't tall enough to enable you to stand and have a shower, you had to kneel/sit in the bath.

The hotel looks very nice from the outside and has a nice bar and restaurant on the ground floor. We had a lunch and dinner in the restaurant and whilst the portions aren't overly big, the taste was excellent. Great cocktail happy hour.

The included breakfast was very good with lots of choice from a menu.

The hotel organised a tuk tuk for us to the airport but I think we paid more than the 'street' price.M the staff are all very friendly and speak good English. Didn't use the pool but it looked like a great area if you had e time.

Good handy position with other restaurants in the street. There's a laundry next door.

Room Tip: Try and get an end room with an external window.

We stayed at Number 9 for 2 days and enjoyed the ambience and atmosphere. We had previously stayed in 2011 when we had to transfer from King Grand Boutique across the road as it was fully booked. The rooms are clean and modern with strong water and good wifi. The staff were welcoming and remembered us from our previous trip. Its a 20 minute stroll to the restaurants on Sisowath Quay and there are bars and restaurants near the hotel.
There's a pool table on the second floor and a jacuzzi on the third floor.
All in all a nice place and good value

Room Tip: Take a room on the third floor as the second floor can be a bit noisy due to the bar and pool table

I have stayed in many hotels in Phnom Penh as I have worked here for many years, when I found this Hotel while I was looking for an older guesthouse in the same street, I decided to give it a try. Definately a good decision. The Number 9 is modern and clean and very good value for money. The staff are polite and helpful with good English skills. The meals I had here were all well cooked and well presented and the salads etc were fresh.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a good hotel within walking distance of the centre of Phnom Penh. The only drawback is there is no car parking available, but still well worth staying here.

I dont really satisfy with the environment of this hotel.
Not really as clean as what we saw in the photos. A bit oily of hotel floor..Dare not to take off the shoes when i see the floor.
But it really located quite near to Nagaworld Casino. Maybe it's a good choice to the gambler..
