“The place to stay in Phnom Penh!”
Reviewed June 16, 2013 via mobile

Myself and my boyfriend checked into this hotel for our 2 night stay in Phnom Penh. We were greeted at the door by staff that took our luggage for us and then gave us a welcome drink and cold towel, a good start. The receptionist was lovely and then another member of staff took us to our room and showed us where everything was. The room was quite big with an amazing bathroom and double size shower. There was a safe, A/C, TV with English movie channels and French doors leading out to a small narrow balcony. The breakfast was included in the room rate and there was a fantastic selection of cereals, egg dishes, Khmer dishes, fruit, pastries, breads and home made preserves.
Outside there is a pool and on the top floor there is a jacuzzi. Located just 2 mins walk from the Royal Palace and the main beach front road, this is a perfect place to stay for a few nights in Phnom Penh.

Location of the hotel is quite accessible, near the royal palace and a street full of restaurants.
Their staff was great, I needed to iron my shirt asap for a meeting as soon as I arrived the hotel and they were swift in helping to handle and didn't even charge me (supposedly there is a charge to ironing clothes).
Room itself is very cozy and clean, fast internet and the towels and bedsheets were warm when i first entered the room.
It is definitely worth a stay in phnom phen.

Room Tip: Just change lots of 1 dollars!

I was really impressed by this Hotel The staff were friendly and helpful had a small problem with a/c on arrival came straight up and fixed it had a big room clean sheets and towels every day.
Breakfast was nothing to write home about and the toaster was hopeless charcoal or warm bread
omelette's were ok. Small pool on the roof was ideal for a dip after a hot shopping trip. Tuk tuk drivers at the front door take you wherever you wish to go, we met one called Jem good English
and very helpful,

A friend told me this hotel and I stayed there overnight. It was modern and clean, especially it's safe because you even need the key to use the lift. There were two swimming pools, but more for decoration. Room was alsosmall. But for myself it's just enough. Anyway, it is a nice place. Walking from there to ROyal Palace only takes 10-15 minutes. It is suitable for people who want comfy room, good location and good food.

On arriving at Street 258 it appeared to be an uninspiring typical backstreet that could not be home to a 4 star boutique hotel. However, amidst the restaurants, guest houses and street traders was the surprisingly well designed modern facade of the "King Grand". After a welcoming drink we were shown to our fairly spacious room which had a modern comfortable interior and excellent facilities including a well appointed, up to minute, large designer bathroom. The open plan lobby, bar and restaurant area is set round a feature swimming pool decorated with traditional Cambodian sculpture. The excellent breakfast which was cooked to order or from a buffet is taken at the poolside which is open air at one end. We had 4 very good days, excellent friendly service and found the hotel location near the Royal Palace perfect for visiting the major sightseeing attractions.

Room Tip: Avoid the back rooms as ther is at present a major building refurbishment in progress which renders...

Selected this hotel based on reviews but must admit felt a little let down. It wasn't as good as we hoped. Staff were friendly but seemed a little restrained. Got the feeling they weren't happy being there, as there were constant little "chats in the corner". The breakfast was very limited, and its the first time ever I've seen that muesli consisted entirely of rice krispies, they also offered rice Krispies and corn flakes, it stayed that way for three days. Cooked choice was limited to three items, and the portions average, buffet food that had run out was not replenished regularly. Dinner the first night was unimpressive, so we ate out. The room was OK but the air conditioner didn't have enough guts to cool the room properly. The liquid soap in the dispenser in the bathroom looked like it hadn't been changed for a while and had separated, we used soap from the previous hotel. The internet either didn't work or was extremely slow. The pools were nice but small. Have to admit we considered this hotel to be the worst of the trip of four weeks.

Spent here 1 night only, waiting for my flight to Phuket, totally liked it. Excellent service and very helpful staff. The only thing I didn't like - several drunk people screaming across the hall all night.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the construction are pretty noisy here.
