“Great Location, Wonderful Staff, Comfortable Rooms”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

When you arrive, you are welcomed with a smile and some chilled honey tea. The hotel is very secure and safe, a little oasis on a bustling side street, very close to the Royal Palace. My room was clean and spacious, with a powerful but quiet Panasonic air conditioner. The roof top pool was more like a very large jacuzzi (but cold) and had a fabulous view of the city. The dining area was on the ground floor, with another more temperate pool. We loved the breakfast, especially the Khmer noodle soup, and likened our toast with honey and pineapple jam to having a pineapple-upside-down cake for breakfast! The staff was very helpful in getting a driver for one day and bus tickets on another. There is a laundry across the street which will wash your clothes for $1 per kilo (2.2 lbs), which is a deal. We also LOVED the Nepalese/Indian/Khmer restaurant across the street, THE KATHMAMDU KITCHEN. We ate there several times and the kids couldn't get enough of the cheese naan!

It was the first of a number of pleasant surprises to be offered a cold drink and chilled napkin as I checked in here. I was courteously escorted to my room and had the unique almost James Bond like security measures explained. I have never encountered such a sophisticated system before. My room was spacious and clean and had a large bright bathroom with a bathrobe and other toiletries. The soaps were very small and the shower pressure so high it forced the head to spray horizontally which was inconvenient. The hotel is near the royal palace and has plenty of small budget restaurants in the area. In- room coffee and tea, a safety deposit and free wifi add up to really good accommodation at a reasonable price.

When I started travelling in Asia in 2001, this hotel might have been rated as just a bit more upmarket than your basic backpacker facility. Our room was spacious and clean, breakfast OK but nothing special (poor coffee). The real gem is the location which is fantastic. It's definitely NOT a boutique hotel and don't expect lots of luxury and personal attention.

They need to work on the lobby and entrance, which was a shock to me. It was our first night in Cambodia and I expected, well, something different... A lot of money was invested in a fancy, but unnecessary electric locking system, where the good old fashioned key would well do.

The beer garden around the corner plays loud music with lots of bass which you will hear in your room.

Hard beds but compared to Cambodian standards not too bad, not comfy though by Western standards. Flatscreen TV and minibar available.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights.

Location - Located very close to Wat Bottom Children Park which was great in the evenings with live dancing and a very friendly atmosphere. Also about a 10 minute walk to the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda makes for a excellent location. There are many backpacking guest houses located on this road which meant plenty of restaurants and people to mingle which I liked.

Hotel - Very pleasant, clean and helpful staff, breakfast was good with the usual array available. The initial night, my room was rather noisy as there was building work going on next door. The following nights I was located to a high level room facing towards Long Nget Road which was much better.

Room - Clean, comfortable and enough for my stay

Overall, ideally located and a good standard of hotel, so I would recommend

Room Tip: Roof bar offers a nice view of the city

There is construction from 07:30-18:30 (supposed to stop at 17:00, did not stop until we called to complain), by construction I mean they are building a new building right next door/connecting to this building and it is constant hammering and noise! And the plumbing is VERY noisy (shower, toilet, sink) ...never heard plumbing this loud ever, it even makes a screeching noise that was obnoxious...thank God for earplugs! if you stay here you better bring some!

We asked for another room upon seeing/hearing ours right on top of the construction and were told they had no more open rooms, yet we saw them check others into rooms after we were checked in.

They give two old, thin bath towels, no hand towels/no face wash cloth.

The breakfast that was included was nice. They even make your eggs fresh to order.
The bed was comfortable, hotel is clean. Location is short ride away from attractions, airport is 30 minutes ride away.

Room Tip: Use ear plugs in any of the rooms you pick as it is VERY noisy here!

Price of this hotel ultimately reflects the quality. A lot has been spent on technology (TV's, door locking system) but at the expense of furnishings. My wife and I stayed in the classic room, which was a small box room. Functional, it worked for a quick 2 night stay, but having had a sneak view at the rooms with balcony's, must more spacious and likely worth the extra cost.
The bathroom door opened and smashed into the towel rail and is permanently damaged.
Location is ok, few other guesthouses along the same road, but most the "Western" restaurants a 3-5 min Tuk Tuk ride away. The presidential palace is 10-15min walk (not the 5min i think they claim on their website).
Appliances quite noisy (shower, toilet, sink) which carries through the hallway

Room Tip: Spend the extra on rooms with a balcony

I stayed here for 3 nights when visiting Phnom Penh and was really impressed with everything the Hotel had to offer. This is truly a very high standard Boutique Hotel. The staff were very welcoming and courteous. The rooms were great, very good standard, comfy beds with all the amenities you would expect. The Breakfast was really nice too as well as the food in general. I really liked the rooftop pool/bar, the sights were very good, especially at sunset. Location is great as well. I'd been travelling in SE Asia for 3 months and would say this one of the top 3 Hotels I stayed in.
