Great market tour, a real learning experience in both food and culture. Lucky me because I got the fish amouk and it was both entertaining, and excellent. Not as expensive as similar classes in Saigon, Hanoi or Hoi An.

A memorable morning and delicious meal! We started with a one hour local market tour, to get ingredients and snack. Don't be afraid to try the food from the vendors. We sampled fried bananas, snails, cherry-like fruit and salty meat/rice in a banana leaf. The culinary school was modern and spotless. Linna and her staff had most of the ingredients prepped for our dishes, but we still did our share. Chop, slice, dice, saute and grinding ingredients into a paste using a mortar and pestle. The teaching level was appropriate for inexperienced cooks, and our party included three teenage boys (13, 15, 17), who loved the cooking and made a delicious pineapple curry (with fish & pork) and green mango chicken salad. After class was over, one of our party inquired about buying some Cambodian peppercorns. Linna made a few calls and then went with us to the shop to make sure we got the right peppercorns. She then made sure our tuk tuk drivers knew where to take us next and negotiated a dollar off the price we paid for our morning ride! A gracious hostess and exemplary service!

Linna's host, the extremely presentable school and the first class service did match all the good reviews we read beforehand. However, Linna teaches different dishes on different days and we were a bit disappointed that the day we were there she scheduled to teach beef loc lac (instead of fish amok we hoped for) and pumpkin soup. Do ask the schedule of her class if you would like to learn some particular dishes. We enroll to her class the very last minute and forgot to ask the cost. We thought it would be around $20 which would be similar to the other cooking class in Phnom Penh. But the bill was $88 for 2 people, pretty dear for a 4 hour activity in this city.

We went to this school today , are son he is 13 loves to cook at home . However he did find the market a little upsetting with all the live fish and chicken's being killed in front of you. But once we got to the school is was very clean and the staff were very good we had a great time . It would have only been better if Lin would have cooked at the same time so we could all do it together , also not a lot of room all pushed together on one station

Linna's class was great. The best part of the class was the tour of the marketplace. She buys you snacks to try and is able to explain what everything is. Without a guide you really have no idea what things are. The kitchen is immaculate. A lot of the ingredients are pre-prepared so it goes quickly. We had to ask for a copy of the recipes, which she readily gave. It would be nice to have one ready for everyone to take. Great experience. She's obviously a professional cook.
