Description: Authentic Khmer dishes and irresistible charcoal-fired pizza! Established in 1998 by Neth and his wife, Thavy, Veiyo Tonle is a family restaurant with a vast food offering. Nestled along the picturesque riverfront, Veiyo Tonle is the convergence of western cuisine classics and Cambodian local delights like Loc Lac (stir-fried beef) and Fish Amok. Art is the soul of a nation, a soul of each country. Cambodian government has been trying to show its arts to international guests to know about Cambodia; especially Cambodian government has been encouraging Cambodian in this generation to study art classes or even allowed them to study arts with free of charge. Each government is trying very hard to inspire its people to preserve arts that there is an ideology raised "When the arts fall down, the nation will be destroyed, but when the arts is glorious, the nation will be prosperous." Make sure you drop by on the weekends for a treat of traditional Apsara dances performed by the multi-talented NCCLA children. Take in the scenic views of the Tonle Sap river at Veiyo Tonle, which is nestled at the heart of the breath taking riverfront. Intricately decorated in fine rattan infused with the local Cambodian crafts, Veiyo Tonle packs in an authentic Cambodian dining experience you wouldn't want to miss. Veiyo Tonle restaurant Open Daily for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner (Monday - Sunday) From: 6:30am till Late

I'm a bit startled by some of the negative reviews for this place- I guess there is no pleasing some people, but VeiyoTonle pleases me just fine. I come here every time I am in Phnom Penh, and I have always found the service to be top notch, the food is just fine (and the pizzas are EXCELLENT) the cause they support is great, and the restaurant has a homey feel that is a real relief at times in a big city. I could not count how many meals I have eaten here, breakfast lunch and dinner, and I have always been happy and bit stuffed when I left.
VeiyoTonle deserves its current rating here, for good food at good price for a good cause.

Food in Veiyo Tonle is very good. Staff is extremely friendly. And part of the profit goes to an orphanage.

Fabulous breakfast - two pancakes, home made granola, yoghurt, fresh fruit and a pot of tea for US $ 3.95. Great value in what is an expensive SE Asian city to eat in. Their main menu not bad either. Service charming. Watch the local ladies doing an intensive evening aerobics class on the pavement opposite !

It's a tiny little place, hidden behid a forest of potted palms. The food here is good. It was fresd, well prepared and excellent value for the tourist. I thought all the money they make from restaurant will be used to take care the disadvantage children in here. I am satisfy of knowing that even by having a small meal, I was helping to keep beautiful children healthy. I would reccommend it to any visitor to Phnom Penh. They need all the help they can get, as all their funds come from donations and money earned from the restaurant.

After reading so many positive reviews we expected great things. In reality Veiyo is very average bordering on poor. The staff are friendly enough but not very efficient and the food we had was fairly tasteless and small servings. The only positive thing I can say is that it is on the riverside so has a good location.
