“Awesome!”
Reviewed October 21, 2012

This hotel is awesome - the people, the location, the price, and the food. You'll never wanted to miss the chance to stay here. The hotel receptionists are very professional, I'd rate them 5-stars on their services! I stayed 8-nights here, and I found pretty warm to their hospitality - I'm touched!

After booking through Agoda we stayed at Silver River for 3 nights and were highly impressed.

The staff could not have been more helpful, especially the reception supervisor. One evening I managed to lock the safe and forget the combination, the hotel manager waited especially for us to come in from our evening meal and unlock it.
We were a party of three and it was no problem for us to have a third bed put into our room.

Breakfast was excellent, a good selection of freshly prepared food and eggs made to order.

A very comfortable and convenient stay was had.

The Silver River Hotel is one of the finest located dwellings in any capital city I've stayed in. Within a 5 minute walking radius you can hit the Royal Palace, National Museum, their oldest temple, the river and one of the best and busiest streets for Khmer street food. Within 15 minutes you're at the central market, Street 51, the excellent Sharkeys bar and much, much more.

The abundance of staff served well and were knowledgeable and helpful for advice on the local area. The breakfasts were kept fairly basic but were available from 0630 to 1030 every day - handy for early morning transfers. There are drivers available with motos and tuktuks waiting just outside 24/7. My room was a twin and a good size, complete with a safe and very nice bathroom (slightly inconsistent shower though). Strong WiFi signal throughout.

Through contacting them directly I was able to secure a room for 4 nights for $25 a night; they were also able to secure my bus trip to Siem Reap on the room with Mekong Express so I could pay everything upon check-out on credit card.

There are a few other hotels on this street, but this one looks by far the nicest and I had an enjoyable stay here.

I only stayed here for one night with two other friends but we thought that the hotel was very nice and the staff was extremely accommodating. They helped us plan out our day and helped book our bus to our next destination. Breakfast was a buffet with a nice variety so that's always a nice perk. I will definitely stay here again.

Plus points are many. Value for money. online its 31$ per night. but u can negotiate with staff & get cheaper:) Located in lively area. Walking distance to Palace, Wat phnom, river front & central market. staff is very friendly, polite & helpful.Rooms have comfortable bed, air cond, kettle & coffee, nice bathroom+toiletries! Food at restaurant is fine. Service at restaurant is superb. red snapper with cream sauce is a must try. breakfast is good. pancakes at breakfast are very nice. There are two computers with free internet at lobby. u can get tuk tuk just outside of hotel. nightlife is lively.

Drawbacks would be hot water problem in the bathroom although staff says u will get hot water for first 5 mins, u dont! rooms might be small for some ppl but we're fine with a baby! not good view though. No microwave to heat the food even if u order from hotel restaurant as it closes at 10.30. Lack of knowledge in staff about Muslim travelers & halal food. Not good experience booking a bus to Siem Reap through staff. bad condition bus & got not so good seat. staff has little less knowledge about sites around like they said palace closes at 11 but failed to mentioned that the entrance gate at palace closes at 10:15/30. We booked a cab to go to Kirirum but the driver was most of the time lost. so make sure yr driver knows where he's taking u.

I would strongly recommend Silver River Hotel as it is worth a stay! And the biggest reason is their owner Mr Sok Tima(soktima@silverriverhotel.com), a very helpful person. You can get promt reply from him on mail. He will do his best to help & make yr trip comfortable. Before writing this review, I mailed him few of these things and i got very positive reply. Impressed!

Bopa restaurant by riverfront is overrated(maybe for us coz we're from malaysia where u can get plenty of tasty thai food.) except amazing glass noodles salad.. sher-e-punjabi is good if u dont order any manchurian!

Just be careful while walking around at night time. Even though whole place is crowded, we had faced a failed phone snatching incident. Nothing to worry just make sure u keep all yr belongings safe & walk! Have a good trip to Phnom Penh!

photo attached are almost finished red snapper:) , glass noddles salad & hotel exterior!

Room Tip: 1) book room through staff to get cheaper. 2) Laundry is little cheaper outside. 3) be careful of...

Stayed in a standard double room for 2 nights. Cost $32 per night. The room was nice, modern and clean. Breakfast was good, mix of hot and cold foods. We ate in the hotel restaurant one night - nothing spectacular but did the job. Didn't have much interaction with the staff other than check in and out but no issues there. Location was good, close to the riverfront.

Would stay again.

I stayedc with my husband and 3 children . After being driven around to other hotels this was the one for us. We was greeted by the Manager who gave us a special price without "hard sell".

This hotel is clean and has lovely rooms. The restaurant food is brilliant and the staff are so attentive . Happy hour is great !!

This hotel is in a nice location an tuk tuk drivers are on hand!!

Would definitely stay here again and it is good for families.
