I'm glad that I had chosen You Khin House for my stay in Phnom Penh. It truly lives up to its name as the number 1 B&B in Phnom Penh. The friendly staff at the guesthouse was truly the best, it warmth us as though we are at home. Most importantly, the rooms are marvelous! I'm looking forward for a re-visit and for anyone who visits Phnom Penh, You Khin guesthouse is truly the best place to sooth your soul.

Room Tip: Every single rooms in You Khin House are the best room.

Staying in You Khin House on my first "third-world" travel was valuable to me. As "heart-straining" as travelling in Phnom Penh was, You Khin house was a place where it seemed as if the outside chaos was non-existent. I'll never forget waking up, on my first day in Cambodia, to the sound of chanting monks (There is a buddhist monk school next door to the guesthouse). Although we had a rather short stay of around only 7 consecutive days, when we left I found I had grown to care for the staff, and I really do hope to meet them again.

We loved our time at You Khin House. It offers a secluded spot down a quiet alley. It is an oasis in Phnom Penh. Short tuk-tuk ride to all the places that are on the travel hit-list. Other highlights:
- we had a great Khmer style massage offered at You Khin
- rooms are spacious and comfortable and clean (a great value)
- laundry service is cheap!
- pool is not much for swimming laps but a great break from the heat
- boat noodle house is a short walk away and has delicious amok fish!
- wonderful staff
- the owner Mouy has a vision for educating the young people of Cambodia

very minor issues:
- There was some confusion about payment for the massage, which was provided by local women who came to our hotel. We were told to pay directly, which we did. Apparently, the hotel paid them as well and then put the charge on our bill. We noticed this; the hotel staff was very gracious in adjusting the price. They said they would look into the double-charge.
- Breakfast is light though was enough to get us started - bread, jam, one fruit, and eggs. They gave us eggs for free even though they mention that they cost extra.

We would definitely stay here again!

You Khin House is truly a peaceful and lovely B&B to stay in. We went there with our two sons (age 1 & 4) for three days and two nights, and they truly enjoyed their stay there!

Here are the reasons why we would absolutely go back again.

1. Customer service is good - There's always someone at the front desk to help you out. Nick, the manager there even helped me to print my boarding pass at the front desk.

2. Rooms are VERY CLEAN - When travelling with kids, this is my main criteria that I look out for when staying in a hotel or B&B.

3. Tuk-Tuks (Cambodian version of a taxi) are always available - They wait outside the front gate, and are very helpful and friendly.

4. Tonnes of Restaurants nearby - We walked 3 minutes and found a superb authentic Korean restaurant to dine in.

5. Indoor entertainment - Taking a dip in the pool after a long, hot dusty day is like finding an oasis in the desert. You can also play some billiards, watch tv or get a massage!

6. We're treated like a personal guest - The owner as well as the staff made us feel extremely welcomed. We felt like we were bunking in at a friend's house instead of a B&B.

Thank you, You Khin House for making our trip a memorable experience. We will be back! :)

You Khin House was our first experience when arriving in Cambodia for our holiday, and what a wonderful welcome. We loved it so much that we stayed longer than an anticipated and booked to stay again at the end of our holiday around Cambodia. Above all else, it has a wonderful atmosphere - managing to be both peaceful and incredibly (family) friendly at the same time. The staff are brilliant, so friendly and helpful. I was just sitting by the pool one afternoon, enjoying a book, when a member of staff brought me a fresh lime juice, just like that! Management top notch. We were invited to visit the adjoining school for local children (which is supported by the guesthouse) with our daughter who loved playing with the other children. Breakfast is fantastic. The guest house, itself, is beautifully charming, and manages to combine traditional Khmer with mod cons. So there really was everything, a genuine oasis of calm in the hubub of the capital... there is even a swimming pool, bar serving cocktails and beauty salon - all done in a very tasteful, low-key, fashion. The guest house, itself, is beautifully charming, and manages to combine traditional Khmer with mod cons.

This place is wonderful, the rooms are clean, the shower is nice. Nick the manager there is wonderful. The morning breakfast is wonderful.

The staff are all smiles, the draw back is that it's a 10 min ride to the river and if you try to find your way back at night with a cab. They have no clue where it is.

Also this place is set up for children to go to school, so you get to see Cambodian Children working hard and playing right in your hotel. So if you don't like kids, I would tell you not to come here

You Khin was one of our highlights in Phnom Pehn. The entire staff wears a continuous smile and treats you like a guest in their own home. They go above and beyond to be helpful as well as provide you with honest and practical information to help you get around town and to meet as many needs as possible while you are there. Though the rooms are a bit expensive for a guesthouse, 100% of the funds go to the school that is next to the guesthouse. Everyone is a volunteer, and no one sees a profit; it is all to benefit the children in need of an education. It's for a great cause and I will recommend You Khin to everyone who is staying in Phnom Pehn.
