Owner description: More than just a bar, Equinox made its name organizing the best live concerts in Phnom Penh as well as many cultural and social events including social dancing every Tuesday (Bachata and Latin) and Thursdays (Swing), eclectic live music programming on the week ends, monthly art exhibitions. Located in one of Phnom Penh's popular streets, Equinox is a two stories bar with happy hours on draft beer and cocktails 5pm-8pm, a slate pool table and the only "Bonzini" foosball table in town.A popular place for steaks, pizzas, coffee, cocktails and draft beer.

When I was in Phnom Penh and working long hours, after work a friend and I quenched our thirst here on the roof top. Its so much nicer then the other bars on street 278 as you can hear each other speak and meet new people. While people watching the street below. The big glasses of beer, and jugs are a bonus. There are live bands here and with 3 levels you can choose your atmosphere.

Only criticism is the food is very average, you can eat better down the street at the Thai and Indian place. Also 1 night 3 of us on the roof were busy chatting and drinking (2 jugs were left), totally unaware the bar had actually shut and they locked us in the building. The staff most likely forgot to check the roof. The tuk tuk drivers in the street finally altered us. We got to the bottom floor and had to scale 2 walls and a fence to get out with their help. Quiet funny really just be aware if they are closing, while you are having a good chat and a nice cold drink on the roof....

They could.do better with a different bar manager though. A grumpy american dude was not the best manager however the rest of the staff is very frendly and the bar is located on a great street.
Food is average.

Was there for dinner earlier.

Drinks were pretty reasonable, with a jug of Anchor draught at 5usd. Next came the french fries. Nothing fantastic. It actually looked a little sad as the portion was small and it was a little soggy.

Then we waited for like at least another 30 minutes before the main dishes were served. I had a carbonara, the cream was pretty tasty, but the penne lacked consistency. Some were just nice and some came in a little undercooked. We also had chicken cordon bleu, decent but a little dry. Baked salmon came and tasted like 'chicken breast', according to one of my friends. Tried to request the staff to do something about it, but they came back and said the chef said nothing could be done and the taste is "like that"... Finally, after like an hour, the chicken pesto pizza came, pretty nicely done.
This place is probably good for drinks and the occasional art exhibition, but food wise, not so much.

Equinox is included in the D&D delivery guide for food. Today we ordered 4 pizza's for delivery. We tried ordering from Equinox for the first time as normally, if we order pizza, we order from Luna d'Autunno or get them from Le Duo. This was a definite once and never again. It took an hour to get the pizza's delivered instead of 30 minutes as indicated in the guide and the quality is pretty miserable. It does not come close to the pizzas of the other two restaurants I mentioned. Clearly, they don't have a wood-fired pizza, fat was dripping in the pizza box, particularly the chicken-pesto one, and the pizzas were rather tasteless. Maybe nice as a snack in the bar if they're freshly made. Overall, a very disappointing experience. Delivery took an hour, taste was not good and to finish it all off, the price charged was higher than in the D&D guide. Sorry, we won't try this again.
I can't really comment on the bar as we only ordered delivery of food. I think the bar is actually quite a nice place.

Most, if not all, the issues i had with this bar in my last review, have been addressed. It is now a very inviting place to relax, drink a beer, shoot some pool, eat (the food is great value). The staff are a lot friendlier and the back room feels like a real home away from home.
