We arrived at the hotel, check in was easy with nil concerns. The hotel needs a few little things to be ‘tuned’ though i think that this is just teething problems of a new establishment. Although when i needed them the most they were great. I was sick with food poisioning (nothing to do with the hotel) for over 24 hrs and getting worse not better. The front desk suggested that i go to a clinic, they drove me there in the hotel car ( I was admitted for a few hours and given treatment) the hotel car waited the few hours and then drove me back to the hotel. We only paid $33 AUD a night. Shopping center is only a 3 min walk.

My husband and I stayed here during our recent trip to Phnom Penh. The hotel has excellent service, with people waiting to help you at any point - they are also a useful source for information on activities in the area, as well a with transport booking assistance, etc. Very helpful. They also have a handy doorman at all times, which makes you feel quite safe when getting into/out of tuk tuks or other transportation at night time.

The lobby is fairly spacious, with a bar available. There is also a cafe on the 9th floor (I think), which is where you go for the breakfast buffet too. The breakfast is reasonable, with some hot western food, fruit, toast/breads, and eggs cooked to order. It's not extensive, but fine for several days. The rooms are modern and clean with nice bedding. The room is an average size for a hotel I guess. The bathrooms are modern and in fairly good shape too. Our room had a small balcony as well, which was also nice for a bit of a view out over the city. There is an elevator, and this hotel would suit people of all ages and abilities. I didn't see a pool though, which may affect some people in deciding whether to stay here or not.

The river/palace is about a 10 minute easy walk (or 15 minutes at most) to the majority of restaurants along the river, and we didn't feel unsafe while walking, even at night. By tuk tuk it is obviously even faster (it's about US$1 each way). It takes about 20 minutes to get to/from the airport by tuk tuk (US$7). There is a small shop for basic amenities just across the road, and several others within a couple of minutes walk in any direction. It is also about a 5 minute walk to a mall type thing. The location in general is pretty good. It's not too noisy either, apart from the local Walkabout bar down on the corner, which drunk Western men seem to frequent, and even then, it's still reasonably quiet. there is little road noise. There is free Wi Fi in the rooms, and a free computer in the lobby for guest use.

Overall our stay here was really good - the hotel is modern, and in good shape. The service is great, and it's close to many of the local sights. If I'm ever back in PP then I will come back to this hotel.

I stayed at the Cardamom Hotel for 2 weeks in mid-January. My room was comfortable with a balcony looking over the city and a clean airy bathroom. Breakfast was pretty comprehensive and the internet worked well in the lobby and not to badly in the room. The whole hotel is only a year old so everything works and has a newish look. The hotel is conveniently located near Central Market and not far from the riverfront. One of the best restaurants in PP, Bergamum (sp??) is directly opposite.

Best of all, the staff are unfailingly helpful and polite. I left my mobile phone in the lobby on my way to the airport. It was stolen by an outside driver. They rewound the CCTV, confronted the driver, recovered my phone and kept it safely for me until a friend could pick it up. Although the hotel lacks facilities (no pool for example) everything works and the people are VERY nice. You could do a lot worse.

I stayed here for two nights and found it to be a really well run hotel with helpful and friendly staff. The hotel is new (3-4 months now?) so everything is in exceptional shape. As a business traveler, I was very pleased that the in-room WiFi was reliable and their safe was plenty large enough for my laptop and much more. They paid attention to quality when building. It's in a convenient location, just a 5 minute walk to a big department store. It's also walking distance to a large market, good for shopping for something to bring home from Cambodia. If you want to be on the waterfront, this is not the one but I enjoyed another, less touristy, part of the city. Multiple restaurants, pubs and clubs in short walking distance. I was treated very well here and would absolutely recommend it for families, business or solo travelers.
