Was pleasantly surprised by the peaceful hotel in the middle of the hectic city. Great location. Excellent service. Room was lovely and overlooked the pool. Decided to stay another night we were enjoying ourselves so much. Great value.

Food was fine lots but lots of choice at breakfast buffet

This is a great discovery. The hotel is in the very heart of Phnom Penh but once inside it is an oasis of calm. From the moment we arrived the staff were welcoming and friendly. There is a great swimming pool surrounded by palms and secluded places to lounge. There is a good bar next to the pool which serves superb food.
We had a de luxe room which was large and had an interesting open plan wash area. We had a little private courtyard but I would recommend paying for a pool-side room if one is available.
Highly recommended

Room Tip: Go for a poolside room if you can

Breakfast was good, pool was nice. Location was perfect. Rooms were clean and service at this hotel was excellent. Thought price was reasonable and it is a quiet oasis in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Phenom Pen

Room Tip: We had 3 rooms. Rooms on second floor were brighter but smaller. Room on first floor were a little...

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and it was simply fantastic. The hotel was a quick tuk tuk ride from the airport ($7). And while it looks small on the outside, it opens up into a garden oasis once you walk past the looming wooden doors. The grounds are amazing. A large fish pond greets you when you first walk in, but the best part is the second pool area. There's a small pool up front. The big pool has about 5 cabanas that lining one side of the pool. They sit right at the water so you can hop right in. The pool is large and clean. The food at the hotel is excellent. The breakfast buffet is sprawling and well varied. We had a superior room with a balcony. But please NOTE: if you book through Agoda, you'll get the balcony facing the rundown house next door. It’s NOT a pretty view, but really, how much time are you spending in the room?! It won't overlook the pool area. The staff is super friendly and the bed was really comfy – def a treat in Asia where you always feel like you’re sleeping on a rock. And since the hotel is far off the street, it's peaceful at night. Make sure to bring your own hair conditioner as only a 2-in-1 is provided. My only complaint is that when we went for a massage, our room was really hot. They never turned the a/c on before our appointment! It was unbearable. So we had to come back after the room cooled down a bit. Massage was just ok. You’re better off going to Bodia a few blocks away. And if you're looking for wine, check out The Warehouse wine shop. They've got great variety on wine and beer at good prices.

Room Tip: If you book through Agoda, you'll get a room facing the rundown house next door, which has a tin...

it's a little Cambodian oasis in the middle of the city!
Very warm and friendly staff, good location for getting around, bigger than your average hotel room (and comfortable), lovely swimming pool, as well as good breakfast buffet, lunch items and drinks - basically they try very hard!!

Don't get me wrong it no Banyan Tree or Four Seasons hotel but I'd definitely come back. If you are in Cambodia definitely give it a try!

This is a seriously sexy hotel. I had a superior room for 85usd a night and felt in heaven.

The plus:
- great design for everything from the well appointed, spacious rooms, with air con, fan,
- all rooms seem to have a balcony
- lots of privacy through the design in 4 blocks of rooms, plenty of walls, plants. The residents' pool is superb - clad in dark slate, with cabanas fitted with curtains and fan.
- first walk-in shower which doesn't flood the room - they exist! And its here in Cambodia
- well appointed gym
- street 184 has plenty of cool bars, ice cream parlours and coffee shops
- massive flat screens tvs, with cable.
- great entrance to the hotel through the pool
- great attention to detail in the decor throughout, the place oozes style and comfort. Think the Maritime in New York or the hutongs in Shanghai.
- comfortable beds, i had a four poster with a mosquito net all around.

The minus:
- not identified yet....

The Plantation seems to be a hotel of the moment in Phnom Penh. When we told a friend who has been working in Cambodia for over a decade that we were staying there she was impressed.

It has a great location. It is within walking district of the National Museum, Royal Place, Streets 240 and 51, and the restaurants along the river.

At first look it does look great. The hotel entry is located in a renovated colonial building. The rest of the construction is newer. One has three stories and the other has two. It has inviting reception area just past a reflecting pool at the entrance. There is a fairly large pool with private seating areas. The breakfast area overlooks the pool. It seems like a perfect place to stay in the chaos that is often Phnom Penh.

Then you get to the rooms. The rooms are not well insulated/soundproofed. You can hear noise from other rooms and people walking above if you are not in a top floor room. When walking in the hallways remember that people in the rooms can hear everything you say.

There is little storage space in the rooms. But the wifi was very good.

Most of the rooms have open bathrooms. The toilet is in room all by itself without water source – no sink or any hose that is common in hotels so one has the option of cleaning one’s self with water, not just dry paper.

We stayed in two rooms. The first was supposed to be a Deluxe Twin with a balcony. Instead it had a terrace facing the pool, resulting in little privacy. Ground floor rooms that do not face the pool are dark.

On the website the words terrace and balcony seem to have little meaning, and the rate card we got at the hotel used the word balcony for the room we were given .

We asked for an upgrade to a room with a balcony overlooking the pool. After a long delay, a helpful staff person who took our bags explained that that there could be staff concern that we were asking for room change at no cost, and not an upgrade. We made it clear we knew it would cost more and the upgrade was accomplished.

The Deluxe Double room with pool view on the 1st floor (2nd floor in the US) in the two-story building was well worth the extra $10 per night. It had the balcony we expected. It was a far better room. It had privacy and more light.

If you stay at the Plantation ask for room on a top floor with a balcony overlooking the pool. There is a lift and the buildings are connected.

The breakfast was fine except the volume and music selection was better suited for a bar at happy hour than for breakfast at eight in the morning. When asked they did turn the volume down somewhat. Several other guests thanked me for getting the volume turned down.

Room Tip: The hotel’s website says that some rooms have “no view.” They mean it. Some have windows facing a wa...

Dear Guest, sorry for disappointing you with the room. Some of the rooms are indeed not sufficiently well insulated, the buildings we refurbished are a bit old. As for the staff, we are conducting in-going training, so I hope improvements will be visible soon! Cheers, Alexis
