Our room on the 4th floor was great, lovely balcony, shame about the view of the construction site next door. This did not detract from the large pool which was good for swimming lengths, beautiful furniture and ambience. The bathroom is good with lots of great toiletries but the glass cabinet for the toilet is a little odd. Very friendly and helpful staff and the best hotel breakfast I have ever had. The lobby bar has a talented pianist performing.

We stayed here for two night with a late check-in which run smoothly. Our room was nice and cool when we got in. It was clean (as one can expect), wifi worked without problem and a fruit basket was available. The taxi from the airport had a set price (12$US) and hassle free.

We made use of the outdoor pool, the fitness center and the saunas. The pool is nicely split so you can do some exercise swimming and the fitness center had good machines and loads of free weights as well as treadmills, cross trainers etc.

The service was brilliant and welcoming. They helped us arrange a tuktuk driver, book our bus to Siem Reap etc.

The breakfast was amazing and we hardly had to eat anything for the rest of the day. Freshly made juice of your choice is always a hit. There was a mixture of asian and western choices.

Room Tip: There is currently a building site next to the hotel so it can be worth asking to get a room facing...

Booked a 1 night stay through the Accorhotels.com. Since no airport pickup/transfer were offered, took the ‘tuk2’ but did a detour to the Killing Fields and Russion Market. Initially the driver offered it USD25, but upon hearing we stayed at Sofitel it somehow came to USD35.. LOL.

Location :- The hotel is not too near to the city attractions. The main entrance is quite awkward since it’s facing a small street rather than facing the main big street which usually such hotels are built. Some ‘tut2” even had a hard time finding the entrance.

Check-in :- Check-in was smooth, done while having the welcome drink (Lemon Grass Tea). Room was ready upon check-in and the staff “Mr. Main” greeted and attended to us in a way that was so welcoming.

Lobby :- The lobby was nice and fragrant. Staffs were very welcoming and it somehow created quite a high benchmark for hotel hospitality.

Room :- We were given a room on the high floors as requested. Local fruits were ready in the room and everything was nice and clean.

Bathroom :- The bathroom was very clean and well-maintained. The amenities given were “nice” but a shaver would be good to add.

View :- Great view but was a bit disturbed by the direct views of a construction site right beside us. Well, at least we know in a few years’ time, a mall will be beside this hotel. Also had a partial view of the river. Did not spend time in the balcony due to the dust from constructions.

Food :- We did not have any meals at the hotel considering we wanted to look for “halal” food at the town.

Remarks :- Through the reservation system, I noted that the trip was in conjunction with my wife’s b’day. We were very surprised that coming back in the evening after a short trip to the town, a b’day cake, an A4 hand coloured drawing and a note from the hotel was ready on the table in the room. It was just great….

p/s :- Everything was just superb. Couldn’t have asked for more. The hotel seems to have their own uniformed ‘tut2’ around, so getting one to go for a tour or a place was not a problem.

Would very much love to come back to this hotel if there were any trips to Phnom Penh.

Room Tip: Take the high floors... great panoramic views.....

Had a great vacation with family in Siem Reap for 3 days and Phnom Penh for 2 days during CNY. We stayed at the hotel for 1 night only, but it was a pleasant experience to stay at Sofitel. The staff was nice and the rooms were in decent condition. Recommend to pay a litter extra cost for Club Millésime access, it's a great deal with all you need for a relaxing stay in a package, The location is about 30 mins drive from the airport to the hotel, recommend to check with the driver if you take a taxi when you leave. Traffic jam is expected.

We stayed for a long weekend and it was great. The rooms are good and very clean, the staff is excellent and very attentive. At the high end of price for Asia, but in the end it was well worth it. I would highly recommend this hotel. Tuk-tuks available at the reception lobby and they are all you need to get around Phnom Penh. Riverside area where there are a number of bars and restaurants is only 10 minutes away by tuk-tuk.
