I booked this guesthouse before hand I moved to Phnom Penh. First booke only three nights but made it eight in total. The guesthouse is a little off centre of to say it better not next to were all the tourist are. But as Phnom Penh is a small city and it still located in the city centre it is only 5-10 minutes away (by taxi) from most destinations you want to go to in the city.
Nice small (hot) shower with all and a tv multiple tv channels. The staff is very friendly and is willing to help you in anyway they can.

On the Street 134 you can find 3 similar guesthouses: Spring, Burly and Sky Park. These 3 guesthouses are completely identical. I was in Spring for the week.
Good service, WiFi, clean linens and low price.
The Royal Palace is only in 20 minutes walk.
Great place for backpackers.

We have booked this guesthouse before arriving in Phnom Penh and as I haven't checked the location I ended up a little bit out of the centre. However the staff have been very helpfull and arranged transport (tuktuk) for us without being to much overcharged. The room was nice, shower was good, you could use the computer downstairs but they also provided good wifi throughout the guesthouse.
When we wanted to go to the killing fields and the genocide museum the staff arranged a tuktuk for the whole day which was really nice and helpfull in the end as he just waited when we where walking around, having lunch or whatever we wanted to do.

Overall the guesthouse offers a good room and they are very service-oriented which I value highly. If you want to be located in the city center, then this guesthouse wouldn't be suitable but for me it was good.

Spring has some of the best value rooms in the city. Mine was $6 per night and was clean, with a fan and cold water. It was, however, up 6 flights of stairs, but you can pay a couple of dollars more and have a better room downstairs. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean.
The guesthouse may have had a bedbug problem while I was there, because at 8am all guests were kicked out of their rooms with no warning for an extermination to take place.
No communication whatsoever, 8 hours with no access to our rooms and of course no discount provided for the hassle.
But you get what you pay for.

The location isn't too bad, you can walk to restaurants and 2 supermarkets and I suggest trying the Asian Spice restaurant on the street for super cheap and delicious meals.

The price for the double room is good, there is an attached bathroom, which is a plus and a tiny tv and free WORKING wi-fi in the room. (Room 07 in 2. floor.)
The downside is no restaurant or breakfast room and then a drain that was not working once out of our 4 nights. Tried to have it fixed but I only think they did something once. If you want cleaning or anything done, then ask. Be patient, smile and remember that the room is cheap:-)
No street noise and a tuk tuk to the river should not cost you more then 2 $.

Spring Guesthouse is located in a quiet residential part of Phnom Penh, which is great as it is much quieter compared to the riverside. It has a bit of a feel of the "real" Phnom Penh and has loads of cheap restaurants within a couple of minutes walk. There are always tuktuk's waiting in front of the hotel waiting to bring you to the riverside.

The rooms themselves are really cheap and we found them to be great value for money! It's a budget guesthouse, so they're simple and there are no real fancy furnishings, but you only use it for a place to sleep. The bathroom is small and could use a bit of refurbishment. Having said that, everything works. The GH offers free wifi but it won't work on the top floors. Which is no problem, as you just bring your laptop to reception or a lower floor and can avail of the free wifi there. The reception staff also helped us arranging bus tickets to Kratie & Siem Reap.

Spring Guesthouse was fantastic value for money hotel ($6/night for a twin fan ensuite with cold water and TV) compared to the other options in Phnom Penh. The rooms and facilities were all very clean and well kept with nice added touches such as artwork, free toothbrush/paste, water bottle, soap, and computer. Service was excellent and I appreciated the help getting my backpack up to my room as the cheaper rooms are located on the 7th floor. The only downside was that the location wasn't near the center of the city nor very peaceful or nice. Still a quick tuktuk ride from the river and attractions, just not walking distance.
