“A Longer Stay would be great”
Reviewed February 1, 2013

The worst thing about our visit was we only got to stay one night.
We received a friendly welcome and a welcome drink.
The room were very comfortable and modern. The mattresses were firm, which I like.
There was a pool and nice area to sit around.

The cost was higher than we paid i other places in Cambodia but worth the money.

I am not sure about the fitness center or spa so I marked these as average

Room Tip: A room overlooking the pool is slightly more expensive.

We stayed at 252 for 2 nights and loved it. The rooms are fresh and really tastefully decorated. The pool is big with relaxing lounges to lie in after a busy day site seeing. The breakfast was also really good. Staff were friendly and even offered us the option of getting a softer mattress if the one we had was too hard. Would definitely come back here!

I always look at trip advisor reports before choosing a hotel and chose the 252 because the owners take the time to answer feedback either positive or negative. I can say that they do this because they care and that shows at the hotel. They listen to feedback and train their staff accordingly. Some previous posts by customers about hard mattresses meant i was offered a soft top if i thought they were going to be too hard which they werent! Firm yes.. hard no! The staff are cheerful and happy in their work which is a testament to the owners and well trained. I would certainly go back again and recommend the 252. Well done guys!!

Room Tip: balcony room was fantastic

I adore the purple color motif of this lovely bouitque hotel! The rooms were neatly decorated and had a spacious bathroom. Breakfast was a choice of eggs and bacon or museli with yogurt which was a welcome change to the usual baguette and eggs.

We travelled with our 4 young children to Phnom Penh early Jan 2013 and stayed at the 252 for 2 nights(we tried to stay another night but alas they were fully booked). We had 2 adjoining rooms on the 1st floor overlooking the courtyard and pool. The rooms were decorated very nicely and the beds very comfortable. The bathrooms were also very clean and modern. We ate in the restaurant one night and the food was very good as were the breakfasts. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Room Tip: A room overlooking the pool

The location is nice and central with tuk tuk drivers easily available to take you round town. The staff were very flexible in letting us move rooms; with two children under 5 we didn't fancy being on the 3rd floor with no lift. The pool was lovely to cool off in and the breakfasts were excellent; it's the first time I'd seen my daughter eat muesli!

After our 4 hour drive, the chaos of the city traffic, sights, noises & smells we were rather concerned when the taxi due up on this small, dusty side street that didn't, at first glance, seem to have much going on expect a building site. There was little confusion about where the hotel actually was but we were thrilled to discover the big metal sliding gate which opened to reveal an oasis!

We spent a very lovely 3 nights at The 252, travelling with 2 youngish children meant that we had found the right balance of city madness & pool relaxation. Our room was big and divided by a concrete screen, so our girls had their own area and was at the back of the building, so meant it was very quite though the view wasn't all that - but the room was very clean, spacious, beautifully, but simply styled and as we were only there to change or sleep in the view wasn't an issue. The rooms in the front looked over the pool & had balconies, if you prefer a view (though watch out for the mozzies if you leave the doors open!)

The owner and/or his girlfriend were always present at the hotel during the day and evening, which is aways a good sign in my book, plus they were very friendly, helpful and laid back, as were their staff - who were exceptional. Really enjoyed the food and loved the individual lounging/sitting/bed/cabana areas that ran down one side of the pool, great to 'hang out' enjoying an afternoon drink or 2 after a hot sticky morning of city exploration while the girls played in the pool and either read quietly or chat to others about their Cambodian adventures.

As for not being at the water front, well anytime you pulled back the big gate to reveal the world, there was always a tuk tuk waiting to whisk you off to your chosen destination and the building site, didn't even notice it.

Phnom Penh is a fantastic city, probably my favourite in Asia and when we go again it will be the 252 that we will stay in, as long as they have a room free.

Room Tip: Back for the quiet & I think the bigger rooms, front for balconies & pool view.
