Description: FCC Phnom Penh Restaurant and Bar - Casual open-air dining on the MekongWith a passion for fusion cuisine, FCC group chef has created the FCC menu, introducing generous flourishes of traditional Khmer flavors spiked with funky French influences. While the menu is still built on FCC main-stays such as beer-battered fish and chips, deli-fresh sandwhiches, and wood-fired pizzas, the heart of the menu remains a finely crafted blend of Asian, Mediterranean and Western-influenced flavours. The BarThe "F", as those know to frequent the big horseshoe bar call it, has served stiff drinks, camaraderie and comfort to a storied cast of journalists and diplomats, movie stars and intrepid travellers since 1993.Back then, when The "F" first opened its doors, the bar gave shelter from the gritty and tense streets of the capital, where an uneasy peace was just taking hold. Writers and their sources traded secrets in the shadows. Diplomats drank their per diems, swapped social strategies and spilled their martinis.Today, the bar still serves a stiff extra-dry, and the journos still pass through on the great hunt. The tension is gone. But there's still plenty of action, and the liquor, on occasion, still gets spilled.Open Daily 7:00 a.m. - MidnightHappy Hour 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.

the place is quite famous 'cause all the journalist use to come here during the war time; nice to see but just for a drink, eat here could be a little bit expensive and out you can find so many khmer restaurants so good....for sure you'll pass in front of it so take the occasion to go inside and see it and take a beer, that's it

The FCC it seems is a home away from home for a lot of expats in PP. Every night it seemed to be full with tourists from North Asia and Europe - perhaps it is a safety net.

Drinks are reasonable and the food ok, the brazilian band seemed a bit much but by the number of people dancing before we ran out with our ears bleeding, seemed to attest to its popularity.

After fighting our way through the evening traffic along Sisowath Quay in a tuk-tuk (inhaling unhealthy amounts of CO) and walking the street in search of somewhere to eat, we ended up upstairs at the FCC with a view of the river.
The menu is fairly unexciting but the dishes we chose were pleasant enough (steamed pork dumplings, tempura prawn shooters for starters, followed by a mixed seafood sizzling platter and grilled sea bass washed down with a cold Angkor beer and a glass or two of NZ sauv blanc).
We should have forsaken the river view and sat around the corner at the back of the restaurant which afforded a pleasant breeze and was a lot quieter, but didn't notice that until got up to look at the black and white photos hanging on the walls.
An interesting piece of Cambodian history.

My husband and I came here for cheap happy hour drinks. They were made well and cheap. We wished we had stayed for dinner as the pizza looked good and they had an affordable preset menu

Go for happy hr from 5 to 7 pm every day. All drinks at half price. Otherwise for 1 drink 5 usd is too expensive. View is the same from all river front locations but if u must have the colonial experience .....don't forget that this FCC was established only in 1993 not 1969....in case u wonder staring at the photos from the Vietnam war.
