“Suoerb food in a restored colonial setting”
Reviewed July 22, 2012

Van's is one of the premier restaurants in Phnom Penh for French food. The food is consistently excellent and you can expect to pay around $45 for three courses and a glass of wine - which makes it cheap for the quality you're getting. The ambience is enhanced by the old French building it's in (used to be a bank) and there is a very nice balcony area (good for smokers but weather dependent). The soups are particularly good - as are the chicken and beef dishes. Service is attentive (and English is spoken well). Easy to find (opposite the Central Post Office) and near the river.

“A treat”
Reviewed July 21, 2012

By Cambodian Standards this is way out there in terms of cost, but by standards at home, I think it would have been about half the price of a similar experience.
The old building was charming. The service was perfect. Just the right amount of attentiveness. The food was brilliant.

“Romantic setting; lovely architecture”
Reviewed June 26, 2012

Van's was quite impressive - a quiet, peaceful place to wine and dine. The food was mostly good - we enjoyed their plump escargots and fresh succulent scallops. My only complaint was the soufflé which I thought would have been perfect if it was slightly sweeter.
