Description: Chinese House is among Phnom Penh's most unique Pan-Asian restaurant, cocktails bar, night-life destination and event space. Set among the last remaining authentic Chinese House of the Charming City (Phnom Penh), and home to three equally different event spaces under one roof. Chinese House incorporates a decadent cocktail lounge, a pleasant outdoor terrace and a restaurant which elegantly marries ingredients from the East and techniques from the West, throughout combining unrivaled contemporary Pan-Asian cuisine with an enticing array of cocktails and wines to choose from. Welcome to Chinese House, where the past meets the present, and the East meets the West in expertise, elegance, taste and charm, representing a unique style of a special epoch which knew how to celebrate beauty, value, stillness, tradition and style!

We visited this bar-restaurant-gallery early on a Friday night, before going to the theatre and to be honest I wish we had been able to stay all evening and make a night of it. The ground floor has a bar (with a good range of cocktails and spirits) and sofas with a modest art gallery around the walls (which was showing some interesting space & robots stuff whilst we were there). It is comfy yet funky and I imagine would have quite an atmosphere later at night. The menu is mainly South American-International (I was not aware of a particularly strong Asian theme) with some innovative combinations and more traditional fare. The dessert was the highlight with a moreish lime-chilli sorbet. The food was not the best I've ever had but was nonetheless high quality, excellent value, and when combined with the bar, gallery, location (in an old Chinese colonial house) and atmosphere it makes a compelling combination and a recommended night out for groups of friends and couples.

The building is a beautiful Chinese old villa with high ceilings and great art work. The ambiance both downstairs and upstairs is spectacular, the service is sophisticated and the menu is one of the most mouth-watering I've seen in Phnom Penh.

Of the three restaurants I take friends, this one is my favourite. The food is Modern Venezuelan fusion (!) with some innovative, very surprising and sometimes adventurous twists. The service is attentive without being intrusive and the decor timeless. (One friend knew it when it was a private residence. Some elements remain, said she.) This restaurant is for friends coming together again.

We started with a nice white wine in the lounge bar at the ground floor and moved up to the first floor of this magnificant old house for the remainder of the dinner. We had two shared plates and one main 'paella negra for two', finished with only coffee. All together almost 3 hours.
The staff were really paying attention and their english was good. A must go if you like the mediterranean kitchen

I love the Tepui restaurant in Phnom Penh which is steeped in history also.

Five to ten minutes in a tuk tuk but well worth it.

Stylish contemporary bar downstairs and lovely authentic older style restaurant upstairs with gorgeous art.

Excellent menu and service - do try and visit - you won't be disappointed.
