One of the newest additions to the Phnom Penh Hotel scene, the courtyard Hotel impresses with its commitment to friendly service, ultra-modern interiors and great Club Lounge, Gym and Pool -all located on the 20th Floor. I loved my comfortable-and large- 17th Floor room.

Room tip: Go high- great views of the Tonle Sap, Bassac and Mekong Rivers!

Not sure why previous reviewers are negative about this property nor think the service in a Courtyard standard. From an American perspective, this Courtyard hotel is wonderful. Spacious corner rooms with soaking tub and shower, a pool, fitness and great breakfast. The staff is attentive and is trying hard to deal with all your requests and needs. Is it a five star luxury hotel, absolutely not, but they don't pretend to be and neither are the rates. Location is perfect too.

I have one point of criticism, at one breakfast I believe a regional manager (two western gentlemen) where having a meeting with the hotel staff in the restaurant. Upon departure the two Western managers allowed the hotel management to carry there computer bags. It came across as colonial behavior and as top management you should be rather helping your housekeepers than let low paid staff carry your computer bag. This is not in the spirit of Mr. Marriott.

As expected by Courtyard Marriott standard this hotel stay was excellent. Great location, nice service and friendly staff. Rooftop terrace is also with great view over the city. When in Phnom Penh it is recommended to stay here.

We had the premium corner suite which was a very nice room! The new hotel was situated in a central location and offered good value for money. The pool area was small but on a high floor overlooking the city. The skybar was very nice while the executive lounge was packed and offered the usual mid-level Marriott food. The staff were friendly. This was probably one of the best Courtyard’s we have stayed at.

We spent 3 nights in Phnom Penh at the Courtyard and had a fantastic experience. The hotel is brand new and with Bonvoy Platinum status we were upgraded to a corner executive room at check in.

We arranged for airport pick up ahead of our trip. The concierge was very responsive via email. I was glad we arranged for a car since we arrived late due to a flight delay. The cost is significantly more than a taxi or tuk tuk, but was only $30 and well worth it. At night the trip from the airport was quick, however when we returned to the airport in the middle of the day it took nearly an hour (so plan ahead!).

Phnom Penh is a rapidly developing city due to significant foreign direct investment from China and other Asian countries, so there is a lot of construction all over the city. This included several buildings around the courtyard. We did not notice any significant noise issues. The roof deck and pool area is the only place where we heard construction noise.

Breakfast in the executive lounge is just okay. Honestly, we didn’t eat there but one day because there are so many great options out in town.

The hotel gym is small but well appointed. All of the equipment is new and the gym is on the 20th floor with good views of the city to distract you while your on the treadmill.

On the first day, the hotel hailed us a tuk tuk. Turns out the driver was wonderful, so we got his WhatsApp number and used him for the remainder of our stay.

Also, several days after checking out I realized I left my eye glasses in the hotel. I contacted the concierge and they found them. They offered to mail them to me in Japan.

All in all, a wonderful stay and we will highly recommend the hotel to others.
