The only thing you need to know about this place is that it is next door to a construction site which starts around 6.30 in the morning. And so will you. Seriously, if you don't mind the noise, this place looks good (we booked for 3 nights, but only stayed for 1), although our room had seen better days and the whole place looked a bit jaded and faded

Room Tip: Ask if the building site has finished yet

This hotel has an issue: no one seems to manage it.
Very friendly and helpful staff, well located, beautiful building... but the rooms are not maintained, the garden is barely cleaned, the swimming pool gets filled with dead leaves. You don't expect this poor quality when you pay as much as for the Pavilion or The Plantation, next door.
That's a shame because this place could be a heaven.

We were disappointed with this hotel. Our initial welcome was a let down after the way we had been greeted at other hotels in Cambodia and the room we were given, although they claimed it was a Colonie room was not as shown on their website with a large balcony. We moved to a better room but the bathrooms are miniscule and the beds are so hard. The food they ordered in for us was poor.
This hotel although in a lovely garden and peaceful away from the noise of the city needs some money spent on it before it loses its good ratings. I am sure the water quality of the pool was ok but it too needs upgrading.

Room Tip: The rooms on the first and second floors are accessed by a spiral staircase and not suitable for eld...

To begin I will start from the cottage, It has recently been designed, decorated and painted. It is apparent that the owner love what they do, because the cottage was resplendent. The food was equally impressive, also the breakfasts were delightful and completely consumed. So overall, I think we couldn't have had a better experience. Trust that from the time you arrive till the time you leave, you will be completely relaxed.

Visited M&M during December 28th 2012 to 1st Jan 2013. The staff worked so hard to make our stay as comfortable as possible, they sorted out tickets and transport and were very pleasant. My Khmer is non existent and they tried their very best to speak English which was good. The staff are a credit to Ann the manager. The pool and breakfast was everything we wanted. The location is a ten minute walk from the Grand Palace and numerous good bars. Some guides have stated the hotel is a little over priced, but we disagree, the pool, location and serenity of the hotel make it worth it. We had a court yard room facing the pool and bar, the room was clean and spacious with a comfortable bed. Nothing disturbed us from the pool or bar. Ann is a great person and came and spoke to us each day, asking if we were ok, she gave us some great travel tips and was very knowledgable regarding Cambodia.

This was the first hotel I stayed in when in Phnom Penh - and it was by far my favourite. The city itself is busy, hot, and constantly bustling . . . and this hotel offered a perfect sanctuary in which to relax, and enjoy a more tranquil side of Phnom Penh.

The location is very good; personally I wouldn't want to stay any further from the central district (riverside). It is easy to walk to the main attractions of the city, riverside, and pubs and restaurants.

The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and always happy to chat. There was no difficulties in communication, and there was always security on the front gate.

My only 'negative' point would be that the hotel isn't initially easy to find - so I'd definitelty recommend marking it on your map before going!

Overall though, a fantastic hotel - and one I'd definitely visit again!

Room Tip: I had a room seperate from the main building - the 'Dragon Suite' and it was fantastic, and...

Stayed here Dec 2012. Room large, a bit dark but clean. Bed a little hard and small but room itself was kept nice and cool with the air conditioning which we kept on day and night. Staff were lovely especially the ones at breakfast. Breakfast was nice enough, bread roll, coffee ( very strong), croissant, eggs and bacon made to order. The problem was there was a lot of construction noise from next door which started at 7 oclock in the morning till 5.30 at night. Pool area was nice but due to the dense tropical plants there was a lot of mosquitos. We had mosquito nets in the bedroom which was good.

In my opinion for what you get the rooms were a bit pricey for Cambodia as we paid about £60 per night including breakfast for this hotel. Location was good but a fair walk to the main shops etc in the heat.

The road outside the hotel was a mess as there was rubbish piled up and people sleeping on it. When we were leaving I noticed this was being cleared away and obviously this was no fault of the hotel.
