Well located, well priced and excellent staff.

Room was immaculate upon arrival and the housekeeping staff maintained It that way every day.

Don't be fooled by the low prices, this really is a nice place to stay.

Room Tip: Pay a few bucks more for a terrace room.

We spent 4 weeks travelling around Cambodia and living out of our suitcase. We searched and tried many hotels in Phnom Penh, as well as over the country. Our main priority for finding a room was cleanliness and Wifi that really works on all floors, not just in the lobby.

After reading some tripadvisor advice and seeing first hand the hotels and their rooms we decided to stay at Le Cyclo because firstly, the service was much better than Khmer run hotels, secondly it was clean and thirdly, Wifi really worked quite well on all floors.

We stayed in Room 7, then moved to room 6, then to the very top floor. We constantly changed rooms, because it was peak season. Although changing rooms was a hassle, the staff and owners were really helpful with the move, and we didn't seem to mind as overall we were happy to stay here. We recommend room 7, it is more spacious, has reasonable furniture and table for lap top and nicer bathroom than the other rooms. Would probaly make a good room for family use. Room 6, was a little smaller, bathroom is smaller, shower water goes all over bathroom floor, and probaly needs bit of updating for the price paid. The top floor room (forgot the number) is terrible, it is near the spa, no privacy as staff can walk on the top floor to hang washing and blinds do not close probaly, felt a little unsafe. The hotel has stairs, we found it bets to stay in room 7, as it's less walking distance up the stairs, especially after hot Cambodia day. All the rooms were really noisy. But good tuk tuk distance to city markets and good resturants, such as Romdeng. Pricey, but we'd rather stay here, then at some of the other places that we've been staying at.

We saw people eating at the resturant downstairs, but more people drinking. We only had breakfast. We ordered the American Breakfast, it came with a variety of jams, which was so delicious. The breakfast was enough for two people, as I am a small eater. Overall the food at Le Cyclo was well presented and clean. Next time we're in Cambodia we would come back for lunch or dinner.

After discovering that the 'Lone Star Saloon Guest house' was booked out for the evening, we wandered up the road and discovered Le Cyclo. We were charged $24 per night for the top room (warning: there are stairs), a comfy and large open room on the top of the guest house with a balcony.

The shower was built into the room (essentially a small room in the room - closed/lock door) with the toilet in the same area. While it was awkward to adapt without a shower screen blocking off everything else at first, though there was plenty of space and we soon got used to it.

Our balcony looked out over the nearby Buddhist monestary. Additionally, the hotel is a short walk from the foreshore and we felt comfortable with the walk throughout the day and evenings. There are some smaller, nice restaurants nearby, though you may find a greater variety down on the foreshore.

We stayed here two nights. It was reasonably clean, well-located, and our room was spacious. The bathroom was mediocre and the room was rather loud. In hindsight, the room was a bit overpriced.

Our first hotel in Cambodia, so nothing to compare it with at the time. Generally agree with the other reviews. Staff friendly, breakfast good, location meant we could walk to sites we wanted to see, after having a $15 tuk tuk tour with Han who is based at the hotel and speaks english. It was clean and quiet, although the decor is very tired. We are keen on wildlife, but didnt see mice or cockroaches!

Over the past three years I have stayed at this hotel about 7 times. I've seen it change ownership, seen the investment and changes made and even watched the construction works on the Buddhist monastery opposite slowly take shape (and been frequently awoken by the builders at 6am). Thankfully a lot of that has now stopped.

The new owners have made this a very french hotel, and it seems that this is where they are targetting their market. The majority of residents are french and it also seems to act as a regular meeting point for the french ex-pats to meet and do business. Not a bad thing in a way, but does make it feel like your intruding if your sat in the bar having a drink.

Whilst the rooms have improved, significantly in some places, through the investment the prices have risen steadily and they are moving towards the top end of the guesthouse market. I stayed for a week in January 2012 and was charged $30 per night (even though they knew I am regular and last time was $21!) but kept being moved rooms. Got a bit too much hassle for me so packed and moved/ elsewhere. Somehow I don't think I will be returning next time even though I did enjoy the room with the terrace at the top - and then found out that there is a Spa next to it so had to enjoy screaming kids splashing about in the pool for 2 hours. Minor things.

Cyclo is well-situated close to the riverfront, convenient to restaurants. The rooms are okay, the bathrooms slightly questionable. We saw mice and cockroaches in the hallways. We could actually get over that, though, if it wasn't so expensive. $20 is steep, and no breakfast. We peeked in another room on our same floor and it seems that they have much nicer rooms than the one we stayed in...surely for an additional cost.

Staff was okay, but their English was lacking. One afternoon they demanded that we move to another room because our toilet was broken. We were confused...when we left in the morning it was fine. And how could they know even if it WAS broken?? They would not explain, just forced us to move. Overall our stay was okay, but for the price it should have been better.
