Description: The Shop 240 is located on tree-lined Street 240 near the Royal Palace, it was our first outlet when we started in 2001 and it remains hugely popular. This colonial-era house has a peaceful patio out front, a wood-floored dining area inside, and a leafy eating area out back. Ceiling fans keep things cool, and a fresh supply of free newspapers in this oasis keeps our customers up to date with world events as they enjoy our Mediterranean-inspired menu. We have other The Shop locations on Street 102 and Street 337 in Toul Kork as well as The Chocolate Shop locations on Street 240 and Street 63.

The take away bread is brilliant, we often have a home made European breakfast with cheese, sausage and the lovely laugan and pretzel brotchen. The loafs are excellent for toasting with. If we come for a coffee we end up ordering food and have never been disappointed.

After all the raving on TA we decided to go there on a sunday afternoon, their website says they are open untill7pm but apparently its different om sundays. So they had closed at four. No problem, we decided to come back the next morning for breakfast. The menu looked promising, sich creative ideas. Sweet potato frittata with smoked salmonand eggs bacon wraps with vegetables cought our eye, so we ordered. The frittata turned out to be a rosti, but who cares, it looked really nice. It turned out to be quite plain and rather boring. No spices whatsoever. Pity. Same problem with the wrap, there was no bacon to be found and aside from a LOT of lettuce we found some pieces of zuchinni. The flavours were plain again, such a shame. We didnt feel satisfied after we were done, and were dissapointed vecause our expectations were so different, we decided to have a pastry each. A brownie and a bananacake. Now that was better! Especially the brownie was good!!

So, keep the atmosphere, the pastriesand the lovely looking cafe. Improve or stopdoing food.
Service was fine!

We have taken a lot of food to share: salad, focaccia, quiche, sweets, etc.

All dishes were very tasty. And you can enjoy a lot of fresh juices too. Service is a bit slow, but the place is perfect, food's quality is very high, and it's very cheap.

Perfect.

The service was very good and the crumpets were lovely. The iced coffee was great too. The shop decor is great and the place has a nice relaxed vibe. The bathroom (for the ladies) was the best I have seen in Cambodia and I have been here for 4 weeks! It had proper individual towels for your hands and looked like it was more belonging to a high class spa :-) Prices were reasonable.

We ate at this cafe pretty much every day that we were in Phnom Penh. We have never had a bad experience there - the food is always fresh and delicious. The paninis are especially awesome, soft and chewy, not toasted to a crisp.

The staff are very friendly and communication is not a problem - they always understand what we ask of them.

The cakes are awesome too - the chocolate coconut tart was out of this world. The prices are extremely reasonable with a full meal including drinks normally under $15 for 2 people.

If you want food delivered to you, as long as you order over $5 worth of food the delivery is free. We really appreciated this and made use of it more than once.
