We only stayed at the Blue Lime for one night but would have loved to stay an extra night or two. The location is great and you can easily walk to the major sites and if you don't want to, the tuk-tuks are waiting right there. Just be sure to negotiate your rate before you head out (we paid $12 for the roundtrip to the Killing Fields).

The room is really well designed. While unique that the furniture is made of cement (makes sense given all the statues that are designed on that street), it isn't cold or unwelcoming at all. The room wasn't huge, but we had plenty of room. The bed was comfortable, we had an extra "couch/bed" that we used to unpack, there was a room safe, of course air conditioning (can't imagine not having that), and a bathroom. We even had a porch that overlooked the neighboring families. The lighting was great with plenty of light next to the bed for bedtime reading. The only slight downside is the water pressure is a bit weak and for some people, the hike up to the top floor can be difficult (we didn't mind though), and the customer service wasn't that great (the people of Cambodia are so warm but we didn't get that feeling from the man at reception).

They had several free computers to use in the hip lobby and the pool was beautiful (the best we've seen in our four hotels) with wonderful couch/bungalow areas to lounge. The complimentary breakfast was also quite impressive. I got passion fruit juice and you could tell it was fresh with the little passion fruit seeds floating in my glass.

Quick tip though - the Blue Lime is tucked away on a side street so we arranged for a car pick up at the airport for $12 USD which was perfect and easy.

Enjoy Phnom Penh, eat some street food at night, and have a great trip!

Just returned from 3 weeks in Cambodia. Squeezed in 1 night at Blue Lime (tried to book more but they get very booked up in advance) and wished we had stayed longer. From the street it's a narrow alleyway but you walk into an oasis of blue water and palm trees. With free internet in the lobby, some really good fruit shakes and lovely service we would highly recommend it and go back again. The rooms are decorated very minimalistic but with splashes of vibrant colours from the gorgeous cambodian silks. Only negative thing was the beds were very firm but even in the poshest or cheapest places we stayed this seems to be standard for Cambodia! We will definitely come back.

When researching for our months' holiday someone else described this hotel as an oasis and honestly it is the best description. Well placed in the centre of town, don't be put off by the description of concrete furniture; it works! Looks and feels a bit like marble and is perfect for the climate. The pool area is beautifully green and shady and the cabanas have notices on them reserving them for hotel guests rather than 'outsiders' who take pot luck with the rest of the chairs.
We had room 11 on the 3rd floor which was a lots of steps but once there was worth it as it overlooked the pool with a small balcony. The setup is a bit quirky as you have to go onto the very small balcony (though it does have seats and a table) to get to the bathroom, but this not as bad as it sounds. The room was immaculate, bed comfy and the only thing that could be improved upon is lack of any drawers to put clothes.
The staff were pleasant and helpful. The breakfast is served by the pool and although not too much choice it consisted of bread, which was beautiful, fruit, and eggs to order so it was just fine.
Whilst in Phnom Penh do have a drink at the Foreign Correspondents Club, known by everyone as FCC. Very atmospheric, famous photos by the journos who were there in the bad times, but for all that a wonderful place to take advantage of their generous happy hour and enjoy sitting on the balcony overlooking the river.

Stayed for 4 nights and really enjoyed the experience. We were on the top floor and it is a bit of a climb but the room was so nice it was worth the effort and gave us some excercise!
The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the bar, breakfast and pool area was a relaxing oasis after spending time in the city. The hotel is central for all the sights.
Would not hesitate if you're thinking about making a reservation.

My husband and I stayed at Blue Lime for two nights in Feb 2010 and then again for one night in March. We were a bit worried about the location when we arrived but after getting our bearings we found it to be perfected located, central but very quite. The rooms were very nice and large and the bathroom has a proper separate shower (i.e. no wet toilet!). The pool was blissful and there were always enough seating for all guests. The breakfast was great and we both enjoyed the walnut bread - yum. Cocktails by the pool were an extra treat.

Probably the only negative would be that the male on reception was not very helpful one day and told us to "go to a bus company to book a seat, just go to the market" - not especially useful at 5.30pm when we were leaving the next morning. I think he felt bad in the morning and rang up and organised two seats for us. No big deal really but it was there only bad point from out point of view.

It was my favourite place to stay in Cambodia.

The little hotel is a true find. One street away from the Royal Palace and only a ten minute walk from the Quay it is a perfect stop. The staff are very helpful and the rooms are very good. Excellent value.

Stayed here for one night & really enjoyed it.
In a good location but tucked away in a quiet street so great to come back to after a busy day sight seeing. Pool v nice too.
Lovely decor/surroundings - feels v chic. Lots of nice little touches eg fresh sliced fruit in fridge.
Great bathroom with large shower - plenty of hot water.
