“Great little gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 17, 2012

A haven from the hustle & bustle of the city. Great location, easy to walk to all the night life on the river front & near the Royal Palace.
The alley it is down is a but grimey & could be better lit.
Amazing pool, nice modern minilalist rooms & decor. Drink & flowers on arrival was a nice touch. Breakfast staff lovely.
Only soap in the bathroom not shampoo/lotion etc. Staff a bit too keen to get you on trips with their taxis before you have even at down which was a little annoying. Some times you just want to go with the flow of how you feel each day not plan out a ridged itinery.
Front desk man actually sent a friend request to my sister on Facebook after 2 days after getting her details from our check in info which was a bit unprofessional!!
All in all very nice & i would stay again.

Room Tip: Rooms 1 & 2 open staight into reception! so other ones are better!

We have just had 2 nights at this lovely small hotel in the heart of Phnom Phen and could highly recommend it. The rooms are fantastic, the pool area beautiful and the breakfasts very good. Just as it looks in the photos on the website.
Geraldine and her staff were wonderful, very professional, helpful and friendly.
Book in advance, as it was busy and ask for a ground floor room if you do not want to brave the stairs!

We loved our say at the Blue Lime, the staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Breakfast by the pool was very good. The pool, and the day beds were beautiful. Rooms were a good size, clean and comfortable. Also very conveniently located for seeing the main attractions. We'd definitely book the Blue Lime again if we ever return to Phnom Penh

Unfortunatly we only booked one night in Phnom Penh and will spend more time there next visit but the upside was we got to stay at the Blue Lime in one of the rooms with a private pool.
Loved the laid back atmosphere around the main pool and bar area and would definatley try to stay here again.
I say try because luckily we booked a couple of months ahead and got the last room, word is getting out I think.
We are late 50's and did not find the alley daunting as by the time we got there we had been travelling for 10 days thro Vietnam and had been getting down and dirty with the locals. You will arrive by Tuk Tuk anyway. It's all part of the SE Asian experience.
Staff are very helpful and friendly.

Room Tip: Private pool room if you are staying more than one night.

when I was going towards the hotel down a small Lane just of a main street I paniced that it would not be good... but going into a high fence the hotal was really nice .. there was little they could improve on. the rooms were well designed and although ours were facing the reception this was fine as the reception area felt like a living room rather than a reception, and was really comfortable. usually I would use the reception area but I did here. the staff were helpful and the best thing about it was the pool, it was cleaned regularly and bueatifully put together....and again thoroughly cleaned... it is a good location close enough to walk to the busy locations but far enough away to not hear it at night...but the lane it was on is not good.
they forgot the kettle and to restock the coffee.some sections need to be neatened up under the bath sink. they had removed a small section under the bedside table but had not redone the plaster work.( I guess someone wouldn't really notice) the air conditoning dripped. but over all very nice.

Room Tip: close enough to the busy areas to walk but far enough away to be quiet.

We stayed at blue lime on our first trip to phenom penh.it is well known to most tuk tuk drivers which is a bonus! Like others have said its down an alley but has great security at all hours of day and night. The staff are amazing, especially leat at the front desk. They can organise anything for you from tours to buses and will come outside with you to ensure you get a good tuk tuk driver who knows where you want to go! The breakfast is lovely. We ate lunch by the pool a few times and yes it's a tad more expensive than the local cafes but what do you expect at a hotel! It still was quite reasonable and the servings very generous! The rooms are big and have good aircon. We had a mini garden room on the ground floor out the back, which I would recommend. It was very quiet! Plus you don't have to tackle the stairs. It was only $60 per night. The pool is great after a hot day out touring, and with no kids allowed to blue lime it makes it very peaceful at all times. Sorry people with kids I think there is a sister hotel of blue lime??? The only one negative would be the lack of hot water in the shower, but talking to other tourists I think this may be a general problem with the city?

Blue LIme hotel is a gorgeous little space. I will agree with other reviewers, when you initially go up the laneway it's a little bit worrying, but you really are in a completely different world when you go through the gates, which have a security guard out front pretty much all the time.

The rooms are quite comfy, it did take a little to grow on me as it is quite unusual, with the bare concrete everywhere, but it is very charming in it's own way! It's great to have the option of both air con and fan in the room, both which worked well. The bathroom is quite basic, but what more do you need really?

Staff are all very friendly, and speak good English. It's so lovely to be greeted to smiles and 'Good Morning!' when you come down the stairs in the morning! It was very easy to have them help us arrange for a ticket for a bus from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap, which included a pick up from the hotel and a pick up in Siem Reap as well!

There aren't any lifts in the hotel, which is fine for me, but for those who might be a bit older, you may need to request a room on the ground floor!

Pool looked lovely, but no time to use it unfortunately!

What was also very useful was the little printed paper on the back of the gate that gave tuk tuk prices to all the different sights. There's usually a few tuk tuks waiting out front as well, and it's usually not a bad idea to use one of them, as if you need a return trip, they'll at least definitely know where to take you and will go by the prices on the back of the gate.

Although you won't need a tuktuk in the evening to go out for dinner, only a 5-10 minute walk to the river front where you have plenty of options. Make sure to stop by the FCC for river views!
