Blue Lime was in a great location near the Royal Palace & Silver Pagoda and National Museum, and not far from riverside. It was located in a quiet alley off a main road meaning there is not too much traffic noise. The main pool was lovely with plenty of areas to lounge around and enjoy the green trees. The staff were friendly and helpful and there were free computers in reception as well as wifi coverage. Breakfast is served in the bar area next to the pool, but one day there were not enough tables so we had to sit on one of the pool loungers which was not so good for eating a meal on. There were plenty of tuktuks available from outside the hotel (but not employed by the hotel) – we used Mr Chum who was helpful in planning our activity in Phnom Penh.

We stayed here twice during a two week trip and had both a private pool room and a private mini garden room. The mini garden was actually very small and would be great for smokers and the room size was still good. We loved the private pool room! The room size was great with a sitting area included and the pool was much bigger than we expected with plenty of room for splashing around. It's also private and neighbouring rooms do not overlook. I’d recommend the private pool rooms to everyone if you can get one!

Room Tip: Private pool rooms are amazing.

Many thanks for this kind review! We know we do not have enough restaurant space and we have therefor completed last week a new roof structure in the garden. We have ordered the tables and the chairs, hope they will be delivered soon! Cheers, Alexis

There were a lot of cheap options in Phnom Penh for hotels and guest houses but its definitely worth it to spend the extra bucks for the private pool.

The hotel is really chic and cute. Upon check in, they give you cold towels and a welcome drink and take you to your room. They had drinks, fresh fruit and a rose set up for us when we got there. The room has a fridge and free water bottles too.

The room itself is good. Don't expect it to be a 5 star hotel, but it is definitely better than a motel or a guest house. The bed is HARD, even for Asian standards (I think it has to do with the fact that the base is made out of concrete. The washroom was small but stylish. The feature that made my stay at the Blue Lime unforgettable was the private pool. In the pictures it looks shallow but it's not. There is a privacy roof set up and the side walls are high so that you can still see the stars but the neighbours can't see you. It was a bit cold but we wen't in the rainy season. It was unforgettable.

The breafast was simple and based from a set menu. The huge downside was that it was outdoors and the mosquitos ate me alive while we ate, making it rather uncomfortable. Staff was super nice and willing to help.

The hotel is located in a pretty shabby area of town, but there are always tuk tuks available outside of the hotel that will take you to the river side for dinner, or around all the sight seeing there is to do in the city for around $20 for the whole day. If you are nice to the tuk tuk drivers, they will be nice back. Our first driver found us 4 days later and gave us tips on the city. A smile goes a long way.

Room Tip: It's worth it to pay the extra and upgrade to the private pool, specially if you are going with...

Many thanks for this kind review! We will spray more the grounds of the hotel against mosquitoes. As for the location, we are in the most central part of Phnom Penh, 100m from the Royal Palace and the same from the National Museum. Our street is one of those little sides streets, typical of the city, in which every one knows each other, which makes it pretty safe.

Cheers,

Alexis

This was our first trip to Cambodia and I would come again just for a few days to relax here. We had one of the rooms with private pool. I was expecting a very small hole with some water but got a large plunge pool great for a day or night swim. The rooms are simpe but nice. The staff were great. The public pool was quiet clean and made you feel like no one else was around. Breakfast was also good. Just one small complaint. The room doors are thin so it was a bit noisy in the mornings but at least it got us up and out early each day to enjoy the city.

We are setting-up some fabric frames to cut the sound echoing in the corridor of the main building. I hope that will help. Cheers, Alexis

Booked a room at the Blue Lime after reading great reviews on Tripadvisor. We were not disappointed. Great location where you can walk to the river promenade, and lots of places in the centre. All tuk-tuk drivers know the hotel which makes for an easy arrival. We agreed to a tour with one of the drivers hanging around outside, and found that to be a good deal. The rooms are nice, with great bathrooms, high ceilings and fresh colours. The internet-stations in the lobby are a plus, and the pool-area is amazing! Love the daybeds among the palmtrees and the clear water. Feels very relaxed even it is in the middle of the city. Would go back. One tip: book a room with a pool view. They looked amazing having a balcony looking down on the view.

I simply loved this place.

The building is indeed off the main road but that means that it's quiet whilst being centrally located (just behind the museum complex, near to the arts/crafts shops on str 178, the riverfront easily within 5 min leisurely walk).

Must say I was initially concerned about the "concrete furniture" but found it to be the room's most appealing and comfortable feature due to the soft furnishing/mattresses on both bed and sofa.

There was a lovely surprise in the form of a large, corner balcony with a low table and cushioned benches overlooking the secluded pool on one side and the neighbourhood on the other. Great for chilling out on - and remaining dry - despite the pouring rain.

Customer service was very personal and efficient - smooth check in, kind smiles all around, plus a welcome passion fruit juice which was just amazing. But the welcome didnt stop there - a delivery of a beautifully full fruit-platter to the room followed within minutes of my arrival, with a red rose a particularly nice touch.

The poolside bar with it's chill out loungers was just lovely to relax in.

Thank you to the team for a most relaxing stay and happy memories.

Been using Trip Advisor for years and never put anything back in. Thought it time to offer a few contributions for what they are worth.

Blue Lime is a very appealing little hotel in the chaos of Phnom Penh. It is in a dusty little alley that gets it away from the noise of the main streets. Staff are wonderful and extremely helpful. The foyer leads out to the poolside restaurant area that is like a green oasis - very nice to come back to after tramping around the fascinating but hot streets of PP. We only had breakfast there which was not bad. You could easily spend hours lazing around in the pool area but, unfortunately, we only had a few days so lazing time was a bit limited.

We stayed on the second floor and the climb up those steep stairs could get a bit much if you stayed there for any length of time (we're in our 50s so younger people may think otherwise). The big criticism of these rooms is that they are so exposed to sounds from the stairs and neighbouring rooms. We had a group of young Chinese people arrive quite late on the second night and you could hear every step they took and every word they spoke for much too long. The rooms in the block near the pool would probably be a better choice but they were all booked.

That aside, we liked the place and the staff could not be faulted.

Room Tip: Go for the pool side block

It is very true that when a loud group checks in, one can hear it from all the rooms above the reception. This is one of the reasons we do not accept loud groups. We are also working on fabrics and foam panels to cover the entire staircase. This should be completed within the next two seeks... Very sorry about the trouble.

Cheers,

Alexis

Recently stayed at Blue Lime with my 2 sons, for 2 weeks everything about this Hotel is excellent with it's lovely decor, pool, restaurant, breakfast was delicious the staff were all very attentive and most spoke english, laundry facility was very useful when out and about all day, to come back at night and when you arrive everyone there to greet you made us all feel very secure and and it was our home away from home. We will definately be staying there again. The Tuk-Tuk driver we used from the hotel was also excellent and certainly knows his job very well, overall we made friends we will keep in touch with them all and look forward to coming back again.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 2nd floor in a triple room, with balcony overlooking the pool it was great.

This is a very kind review, many thanks! Just to clarify, though we know most of them, the tuk-tuks outside the hotel are not related to us.
