“Very good location”

The hotel is in a very good location, close to the river front, the Old market and the Central Market. Is clean and the stuff is friendly. Lunch is good here and breakfast to, Coffe is great in the morning, reading a newspaper and relax on the terrace.

I stayed here twice during my inbound and outbound legs of my trip to Cambodia. I stayed in the older and newer buildings. Both were more than adequate and at $20/$25 per night it can't be beat. The rooms were clean, and the water was hot. I ate a majority of my meals in the hotel restaurant. The price was right and the food was good. The wait staff was pretty awesome. They were so nice and engaging.

I owe the owner a big Thank You. I "hid" my passport and cash in the room the last night I was there. I was going to wander the Quay to shop and eat before flying back to Bangkok the next day and didn't want to carry it. The next morning I totally forgot and went to the airport, I freaked out for about 30 seconds. I bummed a cell phone from a cab driver and called the hotel, they retrieved my hidden passport and cash. The owner personally delivered it to the airport and I made my flight with about 5 minutes to spare. All my money was there. Needless to say he got a nice fat tip for such awesome service.

We stayed for two nights in this pleasant, not very modern hotel. There seem to be two locations, one above the restaurant and one across the street, we stayed in the first. The location is perfect, rather close to the Tonle Sap river and the large boulevard and in a neighborhood counting numerous shops, restaurants and bars. The Royal Palace and the Central Market are within walking distance, about 15 minutes. By the way, we and quite a number of other tourists found the Central Market more pleasant than the so-called Russian market. The latter is a dark labyrinth with vendors selling everything you can possibly imagine, the Central Market is much more spacious and light and more organized and is situated in a remarkable yellow art deco building. Moreover, the Russian market is much farther away. If you are tired or it is too hot: take a tuk tuk! There are always more than one waiting for you.
The hotel has no elevator but the staff is more than eager to help with your luggage. Rooms are very acceptable, with AC, fridge and wifi; we had a large and clean room with a small balcony overlooking the street. The restaurant offers good quality food and an adequate breakfast. The staff, especially those working in the restaurant, was extremely friendly and always laughing although, as far as we could judge, they seem to work from at least 6 am to about 10 pm day after day….

Central location and rooms are okay sized but if you can spend a bit more do as there are better budget hotels than this. In two buildings, one which has building work being done so see if you can get a room in the main block. Food in restaurant fine if you must eat there but good choice around. Used a lot for tour groups.

- quiet and spacious rooms
-air conditioning

On the negative side:
- bathroom has no shower per say, just a shower head sticking out the wall and I couldn't get any hot water.

The rate is slightly high for a budget hotel. Beds are comfortable, toilet ok, water kettle with coffee/tea provided, the aircond works! No lift but there are staff avail to carry down our bags. Located in a quiet part of the city.

We stayed for 2 nights in December 2012. We paid 20 dollars for a twin room, with air conditioning, tv, fridge and private bathroom with hot shower. We stayed in the new building over the road from the restaurant.
This was our second time staying here and we had a disappointing stay. The room itself was fine, beds comfortable and the room was clean enough. But we arrived late at night and it was dark when we got your the room so we did not notice the major building work next door. Allnight the room did not cool down, even with the air con on full. All Night the room never cooled below 23 degrees. Then the building sites next door started up at 7am ,being very noisy all day..when we left the room on the first morning we realised that our room was adjacent to the building sites and. That as we were on the top floor. That three of the room walls would be in the sun all day and be heated up all day. SO the room never cooled down. To be fair when the building work is completed this problem will end but who knows how long this work will continue!!
Unfortunately as the hotel was full we could not change rooms and the hotel staff did not seem much to care. So after a second hot night we moved to another hotel for 4 nights.
We also had a problem with the wi fi in the room which caused my tablet to crash. Again the staff seemed indifferent, or unable to help.
So overall several issues made this a disappointing stay.

Room Tip: Avoid top floor rooms close to the building works next door ,or bring ear plugs.
