Nice peaceful park with rubber running track path, decent kids play equipment and a small waterfall.

“The jungle in the city”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2012

Can one be in Bandar and not visiting the "jungle in the city"? A lovely park with a waterfall, with paths for jogging and for climbing up and down the hill, getting a beautiful view over the deep green, the monkeys running up and down the trees, some coming enough close to gt a close-up photo of them. Relax in the fresh air, listening to the birds and different insects calling in the late afternoon. There are also playing grounds for kids. No to be missed. On my youtube channel (gulmyriamrose) I posted a video made at the Tasek Park.

“A Tropical Oasis just minutes from downtown”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2012

Its so convenient; yet offers many trails of varying distances and difficulty. Besides providing good exercise, there are many vantage points for great scenic views towards town, the river and the Palace. A recommended trail is "Eagles Nest" which takes about 1 hour 15 mins. Best time to walk is either early in the morning or around 5pm in the evening when it gets cooler. There are also drinks vendors selling fresh coconuts and other softdrinks. Parking can be be difficult as this Park is popular

“A bit of the jungle close to the city”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2012

There are 2 main parts of Tasek Lama Recreational Park. One is a busy area near the entrance, including a lovely waterfall. Here you will see lots of people walking and doing other exercises. It is very nice.

But what I found far more interesting is to hike the "jungle trails". There is a network of trails which quickly get you into the "jungle". There are some very steep hills, but with ropes to help in the steepest part. If you like hiking, and would like a taste of the jungle but with easy access, this is the place for you.

Note it is always hot and humid; so starting early (or late) to avoid the heat of the day is a good idea. I started hiking at 6 AM; by 7 AM I was drenched in sweat from head to toe.
