The best sushi restaurant in Brunei in my opinion. I normally go to the Bandar Branch, cause it is bigger and offers more selection. If there are more than 5 of you, you can reserve a table in the "room" (which is basically a space divided with curtains) so you get more privacy, or you can go for the tables which allow you to enjoy the view of the water village while having your meal.

Service is great as well, waiters and waitresses welcome you with a loud "irrasshaimase" (welcome) as you enter. There is a bell on each table and you can just press the button if you need the waitress.

There are not many good restaurants in Brunei but this one of 3 best and it would be a good one in other markets too! Their fish always taste fresh. They have a tremendous menu, and the value is one of the better deals around outside of local fair. The decore is great and the view is as good as it gets here. Finally I eat here about twice a month.

After our last experience at this place sometime early last year, we decided to check it out and gave it another try. We placed reservations and we were assigned a nice window seat somewhat opposite the teppanyaki section. As usual this place was packed to the brim. This time round the service was better and our food order was spontaneous. Even the delivery of each food item on our table was steady and in sequence and we really enjoyed our evening.

The only odd thing was the pickled ginger..... previously the jar was part of the set up on the table but we had to request for it. Besides this all was perfect!

We went there during weekend, last Saturday around 8 pm with my Family of 4. We did not make any booking because a spontaneous decision . We would given a waiting no. We would ask to sit and wait. After around 15 minutes, a manager come telling us all table fully booked. He ask politely if we mind sitting on the bar?. My daughter just came back from the Bar, she say, the smell & smoke from the on site cooking is very strong. Then within 10 minutes, the manager with smiling face tell us the good news that he got a table for 4 for us. Credit for the manager, very professional.

When we go inside, we saw at list 3 tables are empty, maybe those guest has not show up.

All waitress & waiter are super busy running up and down. Their pickles ginger was very nice, however you need to remind various time with various staff and still we did not get our refill. for Green tea, after 3 request then we got our refill. Luckily the food was very fresh specially TUNA & SALMON.

So folk, if you go on weekend, be prepare to wait at least 30 minutes for a table if no booking and don't expect great services.

I'm not a huge fan of sushi in general, largely because as a vegetarian it can be difficult to find more than one or two items on the menu.

Kaizen sushi is an incredibly refreshing change. There were literally dozens of options for vegetarians, and we ordered a handful of dishes which were all excellent. If the top sushi isn't enough to tempt you; it's incredibly affordable, has a lovely view, wonderful decor and atmosphere and prompt, friendly service. Be sure to book ahead though as it is often crowded.
