We had a complimentary pick up from the airport in a smart 'people mover' car. The reception staff were extremeley helpful, some spoke better english than others so sometimes communication was a little more difficult, but they were always polite.
The Studio room was a little smaller than I had anticipated because it was an awkward shape. The bedroom area was adequate size with bedside table one side and tall glass table the other. Bedding clean and smart, bed comfortable. There was a dressing table and adequate wardrobe space - good as we were staying 5 nights! + locking drawer as a safe.
The room then narrowed into a corridoor effect with bathroom off - modern, smart, but shower grouting around base in need of renewal.
The rest of the narrow area up to the room door was a kitchenette, large worksurface with small table + 2 chairs. There was a small fridge, 2mugs,plates,bowls, 2 spoons and two forks and no knives! Also a rice cooker.
This was not really a problem as we had breakfast included and as eating out is so cheap we did not self cater. However when the maid wasin the room opposite cleaning I noticed many more cooking items. I asked about it and she explained that some rooms are government rented long term and so have more facilities. When we returned at the end of the day she had put an electric frypan into our room!
The buffet breakfast was typical of this part of the world, but better than expected. Hot small sausages, noodles, boiled eggs, chicken, toast with jams, fruit juice, tea & coffee. It was varied daily and served in the very nice restaurant (Charcoal Grill) that was linked to the hotel.
There is free wifi but you need to sit in one of the 'lounge' areas to access a good signal.
Our only downside was that we could not get a return to the airport as it was a Sunday and the driver was off duty! Their return to airport was only 10BND, however a taxi was only 20BND set fee in BSB.
The location again was typical of similar countries, you drive off the main road into what seems a run down area (compared to modern cities) and the hotel is set amongst it all.
Having said that we could get the bus from a nearby stop or as we tended to do - walk into BSB via one of the footbridges across part of the water village and end up alongside the Mosque.
All in all a very good hotel - would use it again. 80BND for s/c studio inc b/fast.
