“Good food”

Excellent food especially the chicken lajawab and the biriyani. The dosas are a must try. The ambiance is good for visiting with both friends and family.

“Great variety of Indian dishes, Too noisy on a crowded night”
Reviewed March 30, 2014

Tarka, a restaurant which serves Indian cuisines, has managed to stand out among the restaurants mushrooming every other week in the busy Banani-Gulshan area. I rank it as one of the best Indian restaurants in town.
Variety-Compared to other ones, they have by far a large variety of dishes representing all parts of India.
Taste- Visited twice and loved Beef Delhi Night, Prawn Marathi, Chicken Reshami Butter Masala. The sweet Kashmiri naan can be eaten by itself. Jeera pani needs to improve. Kulfi was good but a little over powered by the smell of powdered milk (if that is what was used).
Serving- Shared dishes. Servings are generous for two people. If you are 4-5 people you will need 4-5 dishes to fill you up.
Atmosphere- elegant decoration in brown and cream theme. Both outdoor and indoor sitting area.Too many number of tables in the limited space- which means on a crowded night the place can get very noisy. It maybe okay if you are going with friends, but going with your family and having a decent conversation at low decibel can become tough. There is one large table at the back which is in a semi separated room which filters the noise.
Service- was okay. needs to improve. understandable for a new busy restaurant.
Price- quite reasonable. Main dishes range from Taka 200-550 and some dishes you can also order in half or full.
