Lalbagh Fort is a historical site, dating back to the Mughal era. The fort is located in an unbelievably crowded part of the old city, with a narrow road leading to its entrance gate. The fort complex , especially the green lawns, are kept neat and tidy . The site, also houses a small museum, displaying arms and other relics of the past.
Though, some restoration work was going on, one cannot but help noticing the overall neglect, which could soon lead to the place being rundown and degrade. That would be a shame, since this fort is one of the few monuments, which links present day Bangladesh to the Moghul empire.
I liked this place, for its serene gardens, stone buildings, and the old-world atmosphere laden with history, hanging over it.
