Bangladesh national museum is located in Sahabagh near dhaka university area. It is one of the oldest structure building in Dhaka. It has been renovated a little bit than before which gives it a better look than before. It is built in taking a big area. As a museum it need more collections to make it comparable with other good museum around the globe but the collection that it posses is somewhat ok. One can visit the dhaka museum if have time while visiting dhaka.

Although the Bangladesh National Museum is not fancy or elegant, it has an excellent and well-maintained collection related to the natural history and recent history of the country.

Most of the displays have English descriptions. The museum can get a little crowded. At 75 takes (about a dollar), a very good deal indeed.

A visit to this museum, which obviously is popular, is a good learning experience. We didn't get to see all, but the layout is reasonably clear, and the quality of most exhibits are also good. I particularly liked the presentation of fauna and national painters/paintings. The flora and food exhibits were comprehensive. The only question I had was the exhibit of prints (paintings) from international (mainly European) art, but understand why this is there.
