A nice place and palace to see. Built in 1872 and standing on the river Buriganga, this stately building offers the visitors a feeling of the life-style of the Nawabs of Dhaka. Sometimes known as the Pink Palace, this building now houses a splendid museum. Basically, it was the residence of the Nawabs. Nawab Abdul Gani renovated this building in the year 1872 and named it after his son Khaza Ahasanulla.

Right on old Dhaka down by the river a peace of calm from the madness of the city a beautiful building a bit of rubbish around but nothing like the city worth a half hour look. Small entrance charge. worth a visit.

Busy and crowded with locals when we visited around the middle of the day. The palace has been nicely renovated in line with some old photos they had of the rooms and there were interesting explanations of its history in English. No photos allowed inside but there was no problem with going in if your camera is inside your bag. Grassy area outside is a popular place for a picnic and a nice shady place to catch your breath before going back into the streets of Old Dhaka. Cloakroom available at the entrance to leave bags although we didn't use it.
Entrance Tk100 for foreigners.

I along with my elder brother who came from USA to visit old Dhaka. Ahsan Manzil is one of the attraction we went.It was really a one place worth visiting in Bangladesh.it is besides Buriganga river. It is nicely maintained.A good security post is there and they are sincerely keeping eye on it. A very clean facilty. You get a relief after you reach their from the crowded old Dhaka city...
