As an Elite Marriott member I have stayed in many Renaissance hotels recently and this one is not up to standard.
It is a new hotel which opened in December 2019.
Everything in the hotel is new (and ‘blingy’) which is nice but there are issues including lack of charging sockets in the rooms and no space in showers to put gels etc. Also during my stay the air-conditioning didn’t work properly and my room was at 25C and the hot water was off for a period.
The staff are really trying to please however there is a distinct lack of management direction (more than I have seen in any hotel). So the staff are running around but confused. Please find a manger!
I also disappointed that ‘Happy Hour’ did not include any alcohol even though other hotels in the area (within the Marriott group) do serve alcohol.
When I bought a small can of beer (Heineken) I was charged more than $15 (yes for one can!). This is more expensive than any 5* hotel I have stayed in the world and is a total disgrace and rip-off.
Would I stay again – NO.More
