When going south of Baku, a quick stop at the mosque is worthwhile. The exterior is beautiful, and there are interesting views of the Caspian Sea as well as Baku City in the distance.

It's a small mosque with a shrine in it at the edge of the sea side. Located behind the area of the flag square and from the opposite direction you can see some of the old oil pumps. The place is dedicated only for Muslims.

Went there on our way to Qobustan and mud volcanoes. Some local people come here for special worship. The open space outside the mosque gives you a good view of caspian sea. Not worth an exclusive trip.

It´s a bit further away but accessible with a frequent bus from the city center. You can take pictures inside. They are not picky with the dress code.

These historical places are well kept. Its a must on a visit to Baku. The City is safe and has great places to eat. The food is a bit greasy and while everyone love Ferouiza Restaurant, it did not work for me.
