“Nice Hotel”
Reviewed June 25, 2014

A business trip in the centre of Baku brought me to this hotel. The staff are very happy to help out but be warned, there are quite a few stairs to get to reception. Food was generally fine but you may wish to explore the area around the hotel as there are some lovely restaurant options. The hotel was clean, tidy and well organised. I'd stay here again.

Value for money hotel!
Clean and nice, in the very centre of Baku, close to shopping and walking streets.
Taxi can't go all the way up to hotel so prepare for a small walk.
Friendly staff that luckily helps with luggage, as the hotel is situated on the 3rd to 5th floor without elevator.
Breakfast is standard but ok.
My room had a great balcony, overlooking the city.

Am lucky enough to be writing this review from room 106, on my 3rd stay here. I am very happy with the hotel and I have got used to the long stairs and having to walk some way to/from the airport taxi. The location is great, the rooms basic but large, competent and comfortable and staff go out of their way to make my life easier and help me get my work done (lending screen, etc). My home in London looks out on busy street in SE1 and this is same, so I keep the big french window window open even in summer and enjoy some city buzz. The service and staff are all first class, very friendly and the guest's pleasure and comfort come first. Top rated for the friendly staff - especially the reception and manageress - and helpful approach to everything.

Room Tip: I have only tried executive suites

A small, clean hotel. Friendly staff. Free Wifi in the otherwise basic rooms. Nice spa. Its major advantage is that it is located smack in the middle of pedestrian shopping area with a number of cafes and boutique shops around. The old walled city as well as the seaside are only about 10-15 minutes walking distance away. The location can be a drawback if you have to lug your baggage from the motorable road to the hotel. There is also no escalator so guests have to carry their bags up a few flights of stairs. Notwithstanding these minor problems, it is, overall a good hotel and I will stay there again.

Room Tip: Do not carry very heavy baggage.

Friendly staff greet you straight away here and nothing is too much trouble for them, however the rooms are basic but the location is ideal for exploring the city. Immediately on arrival you need to climb a couple of flights of stairs...then you'll reach reception, remember all hotels in Baku will require a copy of your passport on arrival, so keep it handy. Free wifi through our the hotel and breakfast is the usual fare, cereals and yogurts readily available. The staff will also go out and uck up a pizza for you if you arrive after the restaurant has closed for the evening. All in all a rally nice place to base yourself, I will be returning to Baku soon and expect to stay here again for another stress free experience.

Its now been one year since I stayed in this hotel. I stayed 9 nights, and I can honestly say that the hotel is very clean, good breakfast and I found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful. I thoroughly recommend this hotel, especially the safe location next to the pedestrian streets and great cafe's and restuarants.

The Austin is a real find. Excellent facilities, clean, well managed, strong free wifi, good breakfast, a gym, and right in the centre of the city. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Not too expensive but high quality. Highly recommended. I had room 106 which was large with a good desk and large bathroom. Couldn't wish for more. Will book here the next time I am in Baku.
