“An interesting building but....”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2013

.....not a lot to see. Very few exhibits, lots of empty rooms, and fairly well restored. It is definitely NOT worth paying for even at the modest prices. I have no objection to paying entrance fees to a museum, but you expect to be able see and experience something vaguely memorable. Most of it is closed to the public. There is virtually zero information on the building or the few ceramics on show.

What is the point in charging AZN 2, for being able to take photographs of stones?? I could understand it if there was fine art on display. There isn't!

A great disappointment and a waste of a trip..

“Ok.. but.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 14, 2013

Fortunately surrounded by Old town, Palace is a very nice building but not as impressive as other things in Azerbaijan... the museography could be better and the building looks empty... i mean, they could show more interesting things (i´m very sure they have) about Shirvanshahs period.
Anyhow, if you go to Baku why not visiting?

“Very Average”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 30, 2013

If you have seen the palaces in India or in rest of the middle east, the Shirvanshah palace is very average. The entry fee is modest (2 manat). Nothing special in the attraction though...No harm in visiting the site if you have time to kill..

“Beautifully restored and a great value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 19, 2013

Admission was less than $5.00 with a photo permit, and there was a whole lot to see. The toilets were a little hard to find.
