Not a holiday hotel. Only for oil workers.
Food not bad but service terrible.
Beer prices high.
Beach is mud and dirty.
Bus runs to city a few times a day.
Not all staff speak English, this can be a problem when ordering food.

The worst ever seen.
Crazily overpriced. Service level is zero.
Rooms are not designed for winter time, cold inside or too hot, no central heating, just a/c. Very thin walls, you can hear person talking on phone in next room. In summer time hotel is utilized like brothel by rich locals.
Food is greasy, cold on delivery to room. Waiters very often forget orders.
At check out it is usual that they put extra charges for things you did not buy or use.
Wi-Fi is with very poor signal and speed of you can geton.
Room cleaness poor. Fluff and dust receiption not frendley.
things go missing from room's.
and when you complane all just lhaf at you.
inqulinding the manger.

The worst ever seen. Business is based on relationship of owner to ruling country family. That allows to make accomodation contracts with oil companies and their contractors.

The hotel itself is let down by cleanliness issues in all areas of the hotel.
The rooms are dirty and looking aged as are a lot of the communal areas.

The food at this hotel during my stay was very good and a varied menu in the Wild West made for more of a pleasant stay. Without the food my rating for, this hotel would be down in the very poor rating.
The majority of the staff were friendly and helpful, the night staff unfortunately let the majority down.

Would stay here again if required in Baku again.

Second review for this hotel - Going to be a quick one but this hotel has raised it's standard over the last few months. Not as many workers (oilmen) about but wild west is still busy and the terrace on a Sunday is great, Food is good quality and plenty to of it, the room service is getting better also. Staff are very friendly and will try to please, Maxzud the boss is a nice man, he will try his best to keep you happy...
so overall a pleasant stay and will actually recommend it now to friends. I will post some photos possibly in a few days.

Room Tip: Upstairs rooms are a must..any block all about the same now after a few upgrades.

I will not go into detail about the rooms etc, they are still as they were during my last visit. You can still hear the person next door breathing in bed...well almost.

My main concern is service, it is the worst I have ever experienced, and I have stayed in thousands of hotels. The staff just do not give a damn about the customers. I ordered a meal in the Wild West Bar. A total of 4 staff and 5 customers were in the restaurant at the time. I was given a menu when I arrived, then waited 10 minutes for them to ask if I wanted a drink. One girl who works the till just stands at the till and does not move. If you catch her eye for service she ignores you. I eventually ordered and got a drink. I asked for bread, which never did arrive, even after 3 requests.
I ordered French Onion Soup and Pepper Steak with fries. The steak arrived 45 minutes later, it was over cooked and vegetables all 2 of them were cold. Then the soup arrived, which was also cold, not even warm. To top it all the fries arrived another 15 minutes later. During the meal whiclt waiting for the food I was asked to sign the bill.
I did complain and expressed how unhappy I was and the girl just shrugged her shoulders.
Breakfasts is a joke, the room is so warm, staff don't appear to like A/C you want to get out ASAP and it was full of oriental guys with dirty work coveralls on. Again I mentioned that this was not acceptable and got the usual shoulder shrug.

Staff at this hotel are rude and extremely unhelpful they do not care about guests and will do nothing to help, at time they are rude and very unhelpfull

Sleep on the beach rather than the Crescent Beach

Room Tip: No good room avoid this hotel at all cost

1. Room cleanliness, the standard of the rooms has dipped recently from average to very poor, too many individual instances to name but a growing trend.
2. Holidaying guests are in the might not like being disturbed early in the morning when people depart for work (DIRTY OILMEN from Construction yards) . It is known that the walls are paper thin and any noise carries.
3. The televisions in the vast number of blocks are sub standard with poor reception, this needs addressing.
4. Common room problems are that the kettle doesn’t work the remote control has no batteries, the fridge doesn’t work and the air con is not working or noisy, the noise can and does cause sleep deprivation.
5. The WIFI reception for laptops to use the internet and telephone home using Skype is sporadic at best, on numerous nights you are unable to get any access at all. The system needs upgrading due to the number of users now.
6. No or poor heating in some rooms.
7. Laundry issues, upward trend in missing laundry and being mixed up with other peoples.(best to take clothes that you can replace at low cost)
8. Room security, Majority of rooms don’t have safes, guest's should not have to go to the reception and ask for one (there are normally none anyway) as they should already be in the room and secured to the wall to make them effective.
9. Room security, there are issues with rooms in the ground floor with the windows not locking properly, or being difficult to lock.
10. Most of the blocks are for smoking in the room, all of these rooms smell heavily of smoke which is disgusting to all non smokers and most smokers alike. The bedding can also smell of smoke. This problem is worse when it is adjoining rooms and smokers are next door as the smoke can come under the door.
11. An electrician was in a room a fixing a portable heater, he attempted to repair the heater by wrapping the fuse in silver cigarette paper not a good practice by any standards.
12. A lot of the blocks have smelly bathrooms due to the foul smell coming from the drains.
13. New or deep cleaned shower heads required due to lime scale build up.
14. We are still having issues with tepid or cold water in the mornings.
15. The Wild West needs to be opened earlier on a Sunday; it is very difficult to get into the buffet due to the number of oilmen staying in the hotel.
16. Room service meals are regularly luke warm and not provided with any salt/pepper, in the past we received sachets of salt and pepper.

Room Tip: Demand a room in either Fizuli or Alex......if none available i suggest you try next door Ramada Hot...
